The human rested against the valley of fur, the white fur tips catching each of the scrawny humans salty tears. Wrapping his fingers around the wolf's chest fur, clinging tight as he pulled himself closer to meet the adominable muscles that it concealed. A scent of his guardian providing security, blocking out the sinister voice that sought control over him. But, Alex’s heart paused in its rhythmic pounding, feeling a large digit press against his jacket, stroking it with dexterity that betrayed the owner's size.
Alex’s muffled crying struck the wolf's heart, lowering his ears as he held onto his guardian, carrying the woes that tormented the little creature. Just the sound of Alex’s distorted voice and constant sniffles was enough to know the human needed the lupari. Pressing the human delicately, keeping him secure against his chest, Lupus stood still in his bedroom until gently making his way towards his bed.
Lupus’ movements with each gentle stride were drowned out from Alex’s mind as he tried dragging himself closer to hide in the valley of white chest fur. Opening his mouth, taking a bite of the cold air and the scent of his guardian to calm his painful heartbeats echoing the human anatomy. Closing his eyes, all he felt was the digit against his jacket, urging him to remain in the luparis company.
“Let it out, Alex. I will be here for you, forever. I promise” Lupus sung down towards his charge, offering a comforting smile across his maw. Although Alex couldn’t see it at the time, he hoped one second of their gazes meeting would be enough to help.
But, the lupari's words sent the human’s blood running cold, removing his grip upon the chest fur and returning to the leathery jacket that concealed him. A sense of nostalgia set in as quiet ghostly screams could be heard from behind him, each of them overshadowing one another, drowning out the cries of mercy. Each successive heartbeat quickened, the pleading voices getting louder as they crammed their final words within the human ears. Despite putting both palms to cover his ears, the voices still forced themselves inside, drowning out the words of the guardian.
“I told you...I will be with you...forever” the sinister voice cooed, cackling behind the voices of the past, but clenching his eyelids shut worked to no avail. The desperate cries get louder as they start to rupture his ear drums, Alex close to the burge of tears, his fingernails scraping against the leather jacket. “After all I am your…”
“Alex!” Lupus gasped, cupping his paw around his charge, raising him to meet his maw. The 73 foot wolf looking crossed eyed down towards his catch, keeping him secure. Seeing a broken human in his grasp, but not a toy, his best friend had treated his leather jacket as extra skin. A flare of Lupus' nostrils, the human scent caused Lupus to whimper but he refrained from the urge to shower him with comforting affection.
The little creature ignorant of the movements as Lupus raised his paw, he gently opened his eyes upwards, startled to see he was level with the blue pupils of his guardian. A shiver travelled down his body from head to toe as his blood ran cold on the spot. But, before he could attempt to hide further within his leather cocoon, Alex’s eyes saw only worry shower over the wolf's visage. The heart beat that nearly tore his chest wide open had ceased in its painful beating. The human's hands released their grip from the leather jacket, resting upon his lap, locking gazes with the building sized lupari and the scrawny form that filled the wolfs pupils.
“Please, talk to me Alex” the wolf pleaded, whimpering as he flared his nostrils more, inspecting each change in the human's mood. Looking towards the remnants of his tears Alex concealed from his guardian struck Lupus’ heart. The compulsion to stroke his charge overridden by the small trembling that devoured Alex’s movements. The large white tail that he once wagged with pride, sagged across the bed sheets, hiding the wrinkled creases of where his rump sunk into the mattress. Both his ears at their very lowest, their tips pointing to the mattress below.
“I...I…” a mutter left the red-haired humans trembling lips, clenching his fingers tighter towards his jeans, but refused to shift his head from the sight of his guardian. The weight of the jacket that hid all those goosebumps was all that Alex felt as he rested upon Lupus’ paw. Opening his mouth slowly, pointing his nose towards the wolf's nose bridge, he took a bite of the cold air that surrounded him. “I hear voices, voices of the victims of the invasion” Alex whimpered, his idle hand attempting to return to the jacket sleeves, but ceased in its motion. Returning to grip on the jeans that hid his legs.
Lupus ceased in mid-flaring, pausing in all thought, hanging on to the last few words that left the little creature. With each word carried a weight of despair from his charge, but the wolf refrained from showing any reaction. Locking visage to encourage the human to continue, just a smile to ease the human travelled across his maw.
Alex shifted his fingers down his legs with force, clenching onto the fabric of his tros. Biting his lower lip, he opened his mouth releasing a white pale gust of air from his lungs. “I saw a Rynar and it...it…” the human paused, lowering his head to face the upper chest of his guardian, lowering his head and knees down. “...what it did...its feet...” Alex whimpers whilst gripping his hands around his kneecaps, raising his legs to press against his chest. “The p-plasma…” a tear slowly crept out of the human’s eyes, accepting its release as muffled ghostly screaming surrounded him. A few trinkles of sweat exited the pores of his forehead, feeling his leather jacket melt against his skin.
The smell of Alex’s sweat overwhelmed the wolf’s nostrils, beginning to lean his maw slightly closer towards his charge. “Shhh, it's okay, you are here” Lupus coos insistently, returning the humans attention towards its surroundings. “I will keep you safe…”
A jolt of the human's heart rippled through the little creature's scrawny anatomy, releasing his grip upon the tros fabric. Alex felt the sinister voice attempting to plague his mind once more, gnashing his teeth as he tried to fight back. Craning his head up to meet the luparis pupil, jaw dropping to expose his white pearly teeth. More ghastly screams rippled through his eardrums, drowning out the heart pounding his eardrums.
“The screaming...the burning...its c-claws” the human groaned, moving his hand idly to press at his lower rib cage, holding it as a gust of white air left his lungs. Alex’s body became slightly exposed outside the leather confinement, refusing to grip tighter towards its material.
The gasp and mild whimpering left the luparis shaking lower lip, resting his muzzle level with Alex’s scrawny form. Both his blue pupils sparkling, but blinked quickly to cage it in. Staring towards the little creature that barely made up the centre of his paw, curling within his raised knees and leather jacket.
Raising his hands, the human brushed his arms across his sleeves, turning to face them to see the ash across them. The intoxicating remains of the victims penetrate Alex’s lungs, attempting to fill it like cement, nearly drowning him. Sealing his mouth shut, gnashing his teeth to preserve his lungs only to cough as they crept in. Both the human arms rushed to hold his neck, feeling the scratching of shards of ash scrape down his throat. Almost feeling the despair that each particle contained, and hearing the muffled screams that came with it.
“Alex stop, look at me” Lupus pleaded insistently, seeing his charge’s hands shaking as they gripped around his thin neck. Trying to not move his paw, holding his best friend in its centre, nearly weeping at the distress of the human before him.
The luparis' muffled works were no match for the eerie screams that consumed his train of thoughts, but matters only made worse when the fur that comforted the humans' woes began to fall from Lupus' chest. Each strand falling to the ground below, Alex only staring wide eyed seeing a layer of red begin to slowly appear behind the fur.
Slowly, Alex squinted his eyes towards the shade of red that lurked behind the shedding fur. A faint pounding in his chest picked up in its rhythm with each fur strand that left his guardian's body. But, the human continued to stare, ignoring the feeling of ash scraping against his throat and the screams that almost had blurred out the world around him. Focusing on the growing exposure of red that lurked below, until he froze. What Alex thought would be the exposure of his guardian's metallic muscles was shunned by its dark familiarity.
“No” a high pitched squeak left the human's mouth, leaning in retreat from the wall of exposed blood red scales in front of him. Alex doing everything to grip tighter to the leather jacket, but it's armour almost fracturing at the sight of the familiar chest. “It...It c-can’t be…” continuing to whimper, Alex gulps to summon the courage to raise his head back up. The human praying to be soothed by the gaze of his guardian was crushed as yellow pupils pierced through his anatomy, and a cruel smirk across his maw. “...please, you can’t be here” the human cried out, pleading towards the rynar in front of him, lowering his gaze to see he rested next to its claws like knives.
The human’s body shivered, shaking drastically as he tried to find a way down, but was interrupted as his digits curled around him. Alex’s jacket, the only protection, did nothing to hold back the grip of the rynar. The scrawny red-haired human gulped, turning towards the smirk across his maw, seeing him drag his pink tongue across the edges of his lips. Its pointy teeth exposed to their fullest, but gulped in horror what lurked behind.
“Oh Alex, I told you, I won’t leave you” the rynar insisted with its smirk growing, staring down towards the tiny creature that froze in its grip. Chuckling at the sight of the human hair nearly turning white at the sight. But, the sound of the human's pounding heart was music to its ears. “I told you, I’d look after you after your family left you” the red scaled titan spoke firmly, but wore its smirk with pride, gripping the human tighter.
When Alex locked eyes with the rynar, the screams in his head grew louder and the cold air became one of a burning ash that surrounded him. The human refusing to part ways with the ryans eyes, the realisation that what lurked behind the screams at the scaled footpaws could shatter Alex once more. Only hearing the screams disappear after the sound of a thunderous footpaw crashing down.
“NOOOOO! Leave them alone!” the human screamed, cracking his vocal chords in the process, but snapped back into focus. Seeing Lupus thrusting his head back in shock, staring towards his charge, concerned at Alex’s sudden outburst who gasped and raised both hands to cover his mouth. “Lupus, oh no, I am so so sorry” the human begged, trying to comfort the lupari who seemed distraught at Alex’s distress.
“Hey, please, it’s okay” the wolf whispered towards the cowering human in his paw, this time raising a digit to stroke his side, until resting it against his side. “Alex, what happened?” Lupus cooed curiously, holding himself together for his charge, seeing the human’s form melt against his digit.
A sigh left the humans trembling lips, moving his hand to grip upon Lupus’ digit, refusing to let it move from Alex’s side. But, relieved it had not chosen to rest on the other side of his lower ribs.
About to open his mouth, Lupus moved his paw closer towards his mouth to take in the human scent. “This is about the letter, isn’t it?” the lupari insisted, keeping his digit next to Alex’s side, feeling the grip of the human’s hand get tighter. “I am truly sorry, I cannot understand what you went through” he said softly to comfort the human in his grasp.
Alex remained frozen in his thoughts, taken away at the luparis' knowledge of such an event. “H-How did you know?” the human questioned with a whimper, his jaw dropping as he stared towards the slightly lowering eyelids that covered the wolf’s sparkling blue pupils.
“I am a Lupari, but seeing the letter just now confirmed my suspicions” Lupus replied, stroking the human softly with his digit, until wiping it across his chin. Wiping away any of the tears that remained. “But, I wanted you to tell me of your own accord. So, I waited till you were ready” a toothless smile travelled across the wolf’s maw, focuon the aroma of his charge that always caught his attention.
“It is...it is the letter…” Alex mumbled, lowering his head before Lupus digit gently hoisted it back up. But, the human did not refuse as he faced the warmth of safety his lupari guardian always provided when the human allowed it entry. “...I loved someone, he was a classmate of mine. We got on so well. One day, I chose now it is time to step out of the shadows…” the scrawny human paused, allowing an idle hand to nearly rip the fabric of his jacket as he held onto it for dear life. “...the day of the invasion” Alex stopped, releasing his hold on his jacket, focusing on Lupus' blank stare. But, the eyes' slight darting movements of the indication of the veil the wolf wore to comfort the little creature.
Holding the human in his paw proved increasingly difficult, the wolf in conflict with his instincts to hug the human, hold him tight in the cupped paw to hide his charge from his woes. But, took in the air around slowly, returning to what he knew was best for his charge.
Alex, unaware of the wolf’s inner conflict, laid his other hand upon the pad below, stroking it softly. “It wasn’t a letter from him, it was a letter to him. He never got the chance to read it...I was a day...too late” Alex nearly stuttered as he sighed, collapsing his chin upon the digit that hoisted it up. Locking eyes with the wolf that stayed quiet. “The rynar took him from me” the human spoke in defeat, closing his mouth, looking towards the lupari’s visage.
“I am sorry, lil one” Lupus replied quietly, finally giving into his instincts to shift his paw towards his cheeks, pressing Alex softly against it. But, he prepared for a reaction from the human, except not one came. The little charge only raised his paws as he welcomed the comfort of his furry cheek.
A continuing mumble left the human's lips, drowned out by the grass like fur that covered his form. But,the wolf’s ears honed in on the words that left his charges mouth, causing his ears to perk and tail to slightly defrost from its drooping position, displacing the air gently around it.
Alex remained quiet, those words accidentally slipping out of his lips, praying the wolf had not overheard. Lost in thought, the world becoming a blur, he was relieved at the silence from his guardian, a good sign that Lupus didn’t hear. Ignorant to the wagging tail that swept gently behind the pillar legs smothered in the wolf’s leg muscles.
The wolf smiled, expanding his cheek muscles that swallowed the human more as he pressed Alex gently into his fur. Holding him in place as he beamed with delight at the humans words, feeling the human body across his cheek, the wolf’s heart pounding slightly quicker at the human's embrace.
Staying motionless, the human smiles at the feeling of being surrounded by the lupari’s cheek fur. The aroma of the wolf hitting his nostrils relaxed the pulsating heartbeat that once struck his chest. It was a warmth like no other, providing just for Alex to show his perky cheeks once again after their long absence.
The silence that surrounded the pair was drowned out but the metallic sound of a zip, Lupus looked to the source seeing Alex’s hand had undid the zip upon the leather jacket. Beaming radiantly down at the sight, seeing the human's chest once again, the lupari’s heart beating slightly faster matching the speed of his wagging tail.
But, Alex didn’t stop there, he gently moved his hands to shift the jacket's sides further apart, exposing more of the little creature’s chest. Lupus focused his eyes upon the sight of his shoulders and waist, seeing it for the first time and the human seeming oblivious to his actions. The wolf's nostrils focused on Alex’s scent, before softly nuzzling the human as Alex held tight towards his cheek.
“Thank you, Lupus” the scrawny human beamed with delight, closing his eyes, resting on his guardian's cheek fur, clinging tight towards it. The feeling of leather that was encasing his arms never occurred to Alex, all his focus was on the aroma and touch that chased away the storm that raged through his mind, replaced by a rainbow of delight. “I am lucky to have you as my guardian” he sang softly.
“No, I am lucky to have you as my charge” Lupus replied, giggling slightly as he stroked the human’s back, nearly making the human disappear in the field of fur. Holding him with dexterity that betrayed his size, as if he were a glass figurine. But, Alex was not made of glass, not to Lupus, he was titanium. “You are my firebird, my phoenix” he beamed, rubbing Alex against his cheek.
Alex leaned away from his cheek, looking towards Lupus, raising his eyebrow in confusion. But, the lupari just nuzzled him back in the cheek. “A phoenix...a bird that arises from the ashes, and that is what you are my friend. You are my strong firebird” the lupari sang, stroking the red-hair of his charge, but paused as a single tear left the humans closed eyelids.
“My big wuff,” the human replied sweetly, nearly falling asleep against the cheek that ed him. Lupus nodded in acceptance of his nickname, until pressing the human, Alex disappearing under the white fur.
“Yes, I am a big wuff. And you are my firebird” he chuckled soothingly, ing the human as he rested against the cheek, embracing one another. “Whenever you need me, I am here. I won’t leave your side, okay” Lupus spoke, gently releasing his charge from his inflated cheeks, looking towards Alex.
“You think I am strong” Alex sniffled, blushing as he stared at Lupus' glistening eyes. The wolf nodded in reply, letting his tail wag at its fastest as he felt the weight of his charge. “I...I don’t know what to say” he muttered, lowering his head slightly away, turning it towards the leather pad that protected him.
“Say those words, again” Lupus giggled slightly, but the human blushed more. The orange freckles fading away as his cheeks turned a bright shade of red. “Yes, those words, I heard you. I will always hear your beautiful voice”he beamed reassuringly down to his charge.
“I like you, Lupus” Alex squeaked slightly, but before Lupus replied he pressed Alex back against his cheek. Nuzzling him constantly against his furry embrace.
“And I like you, too, my firebird” Lupus wagged, nearly panting quietly, feeling the human's chest melt towards his cheek. Allowing his mind to run world and heart to pound as he stared at the human.
Slowly, Lupus turned his eyes towards the time, gasping as he realised it was late. “Alex…” he chuckled nervously, Alex looking up towards his guardian's gaze. “...We need to sleep, work in the morning. Here, let me help you back to your room…”
As Lupus shuffled his rump from his chest, he paused after hearing a whine come from his charged mouth. The luparis' attention turned straight to aid the little creature that tugged against his cheek fur.
“What is it lil one?” the wolf whispers, stroking the human, concentrating on his scent seeing no signs of fear or distress. But, Alex opening his mouth stopped the lupari’s inspection.
“I...want to sleep with you, tonight. Please” Alex pleaded softly, staring at the eyes that widened on the wolf’s visage. Hearing a slight woosh as Lupus' tail wagged. The human paused, awaiting an answer from the wolf.
“Of course you can! Your big wuff needs his lil firebird” Lupus grinned, lying down upon the mattress, curling his digits around his charge, securing him in his grasp. The wolf’s head sinking into the pillow below, moving his paw down to meet his maw. Smiling down as the sensation of his charge wrapping up warm within his pad was a feeling like no other. The wolf's heart pounding excitedly at the trust this little creature had for Lupus.
Taking a breath of the scent of his guardian, Alex rested his head against the wolf’s human-sized digit, safe. The warmth and feeling of the leather pad that secured him felt better than anything the jacket that he thought would secure him. But, the heartbeat he felt within each of his digits from the towering 73 foot ‘big wuff’ was all he concentrated on, and it was enough to send the human to sleep.
Resting upon the bed in one anothers embrace, the pair closed their eyes, falling asleep with smiles of delight upon their paws.

I love this chapter so much, you’re one of the best writers I have seen on FA and I just love the sheer efforts you put into the details, and “big woof” Lupus is now easily my favourite macro now; he’s just so sweet and caring. Oh…I think you’ve done a fantastic job, because I already feel emotionally attached to him in just one chapter😊

Oh wow, that was a quick reply, and I’m equally thankful for your prompt reply. I’ll check out more stories later, normally I wouldn’t be so eager to read a story with macros…but Lupus is an entirely new experience to me, and I welcome it, thanks for sharing such an amazing macro with me! 😊

You are so welcome, he's a gentle and teasing soul who will do his best to care for the lil ones. There is more on him, and will be future projets that dive into his lore more. I'm honoured you think so highly of my wolf, I'm really grateful! Have a lovely Friday!

Yes, I think his big heart is also what sustains my reading desire and why I’ve enjoyed reading this story; it’s just so hard not to love him! Also, unlike many other writers, you’ve really put efforts into showcasing his kindness and gentle nature through amazing details! Which is also my number one rule whenever I wanna write something; I would like my readers connecting with the characters through their words, actions and inner thoughts, not just plain texts, which is unfortunately many other writers would do, some of which even sound similar! You know? But anyway, I look forward to reading your future projects, and I wish you a pleasant day as well! Whatever time zone you’re in😊
