Lately I've been endeavouring to spend a little less time idly browsing social media, refreshing the same half dozen websites, etc. To that end I've been searching for new hobbies to help fill my time in a fun and relaxing way, and last week it occurred to me... y'know what I really enjoy? Baking!
I've enjoyed cooking for most of my adult life, but most of what I do is savoury stuff. When I do bake, it tends to be the same four or five desserts that I have in semi-regular rotation. But there are dozens upon dozens of delicious desserts out there that I know I enjoy, yet I've never tried making for myself. So, this is me starting to remedy that by baking a whole bunch of things I've never made before!
Today's recipe was something I've always enjoyed as a coffee shop treat, but never tried at home! Blueberry muffins!
I used this recipe from Serious Eats, sticking to it pretty much as written aside from omitting the coriander seeds (while interesting, I have too strong a 'savoury' association with them thanks to the amount of curries I make, haha.

And as you can hopefully see from the picture, they turned out GREAT! <3 I was super proud of them. Light, super fruity, not too sweet! Delicious. :3 I highly recommend the recipe, and I'm super excited to try baking something else next week after this initial success.
I think next is gonna be either Brandy Snaps or Gingerbread. :o

I'm not sure what prompted me to pick these as my first recipe, maybe the universe has been willing more blueberry muffins into existence worldwide. :3
