What kind of gravy is typical of Poutine? I think the one I had used beef gravy.
Poutine in its proper form is a bag or takeaway box of fresh chips - preferably hand cut w/skins (aka french fries), a layer of fresh cheese curds, and then PIPING HOT gravy poured over it. Large orders may have a second layer of chips and cheese curds.
Serve immediately with a fork. Served best had on the way home from the tavern at 11 pm when it's hella cold. Or just with a beer.
