Sand hogs are a species of megasnake that currently inhabits the dunes of gigantis, they evolved from Hognose snakes. Sand hogs primarily feed on wyrms, juvenile nightwing leviathans and other fairly large creatures, other sand hogs are also on the menu. Sand hogs hunt by burrowing under the sand, usually remaining still for days to weeks until their prey shows up, then they’ll lunge out from the sand and impale their victim using their tusks, usually to stun their prey or slow them down. Humans are not part of their diet as we are far too small. However they can still pose a threat if you set foot on their domain. They are super sensitive to vibrations and will throw you into into the air resulting in serious injury or death.
The Sand hog also has cobra-like hood, the enlarged scales on the sides of the hood make the snake appear more threatening. They usually only flare their hood to intimidate other hogs to keep them out of their territory.
