Helicopter and aircraft controls and simulator software is notoriously difficult to acquire, so the best training methodology is to create your own circuit boards and emulation software.
With the right commands, you can simulate putting the helicopter's computer into maintenance mode, lowering the landing gear, and even changing the rotation speed of the blades.
So, with the steps provided, I challenged myself. I wanted to see if there was a way you could 'crash' the helicopter. The flight computer prevents you from setting the speed to zero...unless you disable the safety settings.
So...I put the flight computer into secondary mode, then the maintenance computer into debug mode, then set the engine speed to a value the computer couldn't recognize.
The rotor blades stopped...
...then they started smoking...
Imagine if this had been a real helicopter?
