❗ WARNING ❗ -- This piece of artwork may be emotionally traumatizing to some, as there are certainly many people in the world that are coping with real-life depression. This artwork is simply used for aesthetic purposes and isn't meant as an insult to those who are coping with suicidal thoughts. I respect those who do cope with these emotional symptoms even if I've never experienced them myself.
-- These two electric rabbit monsters have always stood out to me; not just because they are from Gen 3, which might be my favorite generation to date, but also because during Ruby and Sapphire, we got not one, but TWO adorable rodents added to the family of ''Pikachu Clones'', as they are often called. And I wanted to highlight the ''Plus Vs. Minus'' theme in one of my artworks, and to say it got outta hand in of theme, is an understatement. 😏 I love these two for what they are, even if their battling skills in-game are far from perfect.

What I find interesting, as someone who has fought with depression and suicidal ideations, is the use of the "Cheerleader Pokemon". Life is full of +Positive+ and -Negative- moments. My great grandmother used to say, "You have to know what it is to feel bad in order to appreciate what feeling good is.". My life's journey has definitely had plenty of ups-and-downs, but it was the downs that made me really thankful for the ups that came if I just hung in there long enough to get past a difficult time.

With Plusle & Minun, you get a good pairing of +Positive+ and -Negative- that show how you can't have one without the other. Even if Minun may be associated with the -Negative-, they are still a part of the cheerleading pair of bunny-like Pika Clones. There is also always something to gain from a -Negative- experience, too. Like their ELECTRIC attacks, I can safely say that learning from a -Negative- time can make the +Positive+ even better than it might have been without the not-so-good experience.

Long-to-short, I see a lot of value in Plusle & Minun serving as representatives for mental health in the Pokemon universe. You just can't have one without the other. :)
And that is true -- we need a little darkness in order to appreciate the good times in life.
Hm, that might be a subcontious reason for me to favor the DARK type when it comes to Pokémon. 🌖
