The ventilation system in The Teeth is extensive and quite effective. It was also implemented long before there were yinglets in the area.

That, or Cieling Yinglet Is Watching You~!
*Slurp*
Gordon, I'm no longer thirsty.
A harmless curiosity?
Lopin is a friend.
suddenly I am picturing Lupin III as a Yinglet.
Wooooo!
The best.
...
Lopin in mirrored sunglasses, black tank shirt, silver cross necklace.
Lopvin Diesel.
2Yingy
also, using those tunnels would make a assault by yinglets very hard to stop, since they are on average limber enough to easily utilize them, bing bang boom, throat slicers out the wazoo
I don't think I'd feel too safe with those small guys popping up all over the place, ready to start shoving spears in my Achille's tendon
. . .
Hmmmmmm.
I think I might have accidentally stumbled upon one of Trademaster Viracroix's long-term plans...
Is it possible that Lopin becomes a (GASP) ... spy? :)
Considering how many times he's been dressed up by employees of this place, I want to imagine sometime in the distant future, that they'll have large numbers of painting in the halls of Kass and friends. And Lopin will be the most re-accurring people in those paintings.
Is it Bee-zel, or Buy-zel?
And Beizel vented.... He sus
Thats my final answer i hope im right? Correct me if im not
However, I'm beginning to think that if they decide to push past the 'fog' as Kass calls it, of Yinglet-y jumpiness and scatterbrained thoughts, a Yinglet is actually every bit as intelligent as a human. Beizel, Vizlet and Figgins are good examples of this. So is Narklet.
Unfortunately the comparitively child-like outlook and hair-trigger jumpiness of the species as a whole misleads one into thinking of them as intelectually lesser. I rly don't think so.
"Likeable." Seems to be the answer.
Other then getting roughed up because he had 'Ze Zing' and they either wanted him dead for it. No one has disliked Lopin long. Even Kas who has every tight to make his life well what it IS now, could not go though with wanted to kick his ass after he pledged himself to making right his wrong. He just seems to be able to bring out the good in people.
Or both.
Seriously. This guy lucked out on the genetic lottery. So many yings wanna be this guy. Probably a few humans too! Hard not to envy the little bugger with how cool and stealthy he is.
....I am lacking way too much sleep to be posting this, but fuck it, Beizel is like my soul yinglet. 10/10, would give the stealthy boy much love and gifts.
Which may not seem like much compared to the rest of them right now, but he wouldn't be a Patriarch if he wasn't competent. Or clumsy.
Also Kass will need to be tossed into the vents now. For science.
And personally I think pet.
It's interesting that the yinglets of higher intelligence would be using a sort of unformalized therapy amongst each other....
The answer of course, is minor research staff, political refugee, recruit of Officer Kassen Atoll. And... friend.

Useful to correctly differentiate in the mind of the patient invasive, logical and illogical suppositions, stablize and give the mental structure to halt/redirect obsessive thoughts, assumptions not based in reality but in fear, etc..
Cause it would seem to me that this would only be an adaption that would come up from interacting closely with humans. Establishing a "neurotypical" baseline or relative ideal for the stability. Then in general striving for small adjustments that work for the sensitive individuals amongst them, making their work force more effective and stable one interaction at a time and lifting the smarter ones out of the pack. Those that can such lessons and start implimenting them internally will be likely to succeed much more as they age.
I'm reminded that Vizlet and the patriarchs follow Lizzy's progress carefully and probably swap ideas for techniques to calm her at least incident to incident.
It's interesting for sure! It's entirely possible that the "elder knowledge" bestowed upon Narklet equates simply to "jedi mind tricks for the weak minded," which for sure Vizlet has picked up for herself, and the patriarchs have mastered to one degree or another (besides Poak who simply bulls through problems on bulk and kindness).
So it's clearly part of their leadership repertoire, but perhaps in Vizlet and Biezel's version is emerging some actually helpful, long term techniques. Which is frankly interesting, given how few humans are using that ive a social network. Valsalia's guard force are defending each other's mutual education, but not entirely sure we've seen much similar wholesome behavior except for maybe, in a shadowy imitation, the Dinnish refugee barracks?
If they reach human levels of trade skills, they won't be entirely equal to the humans. They might just be a bit more well adjusted... other than, yknow, the steady trickle of weirdos that them every generation of eggs. Nothing like the village idiots dragging you down....
Their tendency towards variation and mutation will at least occasionally reward them with particularly gifted individuals, whether that gift is strength, intelligence, intuition, or what have you.
Essentially, the whole discipline started in selfish principles, and brute forced their way up to today. Its all about sample size to begin with. They don't necessarily have to be setting out for that purpose to end up developing those techniques. They just have to be out to understand people, minds, behaviors etc.. I'm not giving them credit on something I can see they're absolutely doing or something, I'm just speculating here. It'd be interesting for such a collectivist and low baseline intelligence society to prioritize wellness of the herd in general.
What is a group of yinglets called, other than an Enclave. A gang, a skitter? A disappointment? Lol
not but in more seriousness, what he did is oh so clever.
he takes on a reprimanding facade but the goal is quite the contrary...
man i love this comic, truly great writing and all just right up my alley.
"Nanomachines, son !"
