Dino File #3: "Pool Helpers"

Large and small scale dinos, despite their differences in size, may still find ways to interact with each other while also proving useful. Typically, the more benevolent large scales may actively look for ways to either help the small dinos with a task that is complicated for small scales but trivial for large scales, or enhance an experience for the small scales with minimal effort.

One such way is volunteering at various small scale facilities. The large scales often don't even need to move much for the small scales to make use of them.

All the same, though, half the time, if a large scale has to volunteer to help a small scale business or facility of any kind, it's usually because said large scale accidentally stepped on an important piece of equipment and must serve as a temporary replacement... that is, if they feel like it. After all, the small scales can't exactly MAKE them do so... It all depends on how sorry or interested the large scales are...

... And fortunately for this rec center and gym's outdoor pool extension, they got one large scale who was sorry, and one who was curious...

"Ahhhh~ What a lovely day to be by the pool!" Pomeline beamed. She lay there, soaking on the sunlight, as were a couple of smaller dinos sunbathing on her breasts, and another one sitting on her snout. "I'm so glad you and I can hang out today, Sherry! It was going to be so boring and lonely otherwise, what with Bay being at work, and Conny taking Steppy to the horn-tist and all..."

Sherazade lay at the other end of the pool, swimmers climbing up her arm and onto her head, diving into the pool from her snout. "I know what you mean," Sherazade replied, sighing. "Abby's away too."

"What's she up to? She doesn't go places without you that often."

"She didn't say exactly, but-"

An exasperated groan came from the small scale sitting on Pomeline snout, who happened to be the pool lifeguard. "Hey, you can't be having a casual conversation when you've got others climbing on you..." he grunted. This only excited an amused "honking" snort from the Para, the loud honk vibrating where he sat. He regained himself, and continued, turning sharply to look Pomeline in the eyes. "And anyway, may I remind you that you're not here to enjoy yourself!"

"Oh~?" Pomeline said in her usual teasing voice, feigning innocence, as she already knew the lifeguard wasn't thrilled with her at the moment. "Why AM I here then?"

"Because you crushed my lifeguardin' chair, ya honkin' honker!" he yelled. "So you're the replacement for now!"

"Wow. Rude..." Pomeline said sarcastically, honking again and glancing away. "Calm down, will ya? It's not like I squashed YOU..."

"Yeah, because I had to dive out of the chair before your big butt came down!"

"Aw, you think my butt's big? Thanks! I rather like my big ol' butt~"

"That wasn't supposed to be a compliment..." the lifeguard hissed.

Pomeline paid no mind, turning her attention to the swimmers in the pool. "All right, smallies!" she called down to the swimmers. "Surf's up!" Pomeline dipped her hand into the water, and waved it up and down, creating big swells which bounced the swimmers around.

The lifeguard looked frantic. "Hey woah, stop that!" he yelled. "What do you think you're doing?!"

"Making waves, silly!" Pomeline replied.

"But this isn't a wave pool!" he explained.

"It is now!" Pomeline retorted, playfully honking again.

The lifeguard groaned. A second later, he could hear an audible giggle from the Stego at the other end of the pool, who couldn't help but laugh at Pomeline's playful innocence. All of the swimmers climbing her started shaking and holding on as she laughed uncontrollably. One swimmer who had been preparing to dive off of her snout lost his footing and slipped off, falling off into the pool rather ungracefully. The lifeguard quickly raised his megaphone and bellowed at her. "Hey stop giggling over there! You're the diving board today, you know, since you squashed the ACTUAL diving board..."

Sherazade fumed. "I said I was sorry!" she protested.

"Doesn't matter!" the lifeguard snapped. "You've got others climbing on you, so you need to keep it together and hold still!"

"Mmf, fine..." the Stego sighed. She was a little more sensitive than Pomeline, who could easily parry bossiness with humor.

"Uh... e-excuse me?" came a small voice. Sherazade crossed her eyes to look at the source of the voice, the diver next in line. He was preparing to dive off of her nose, but found one issue... heights. "Could uh... could you lower your head a bit?" he asked, both unnerved by the height and by the mere idea of standing upon the Stego's face. "It's... too high..."

"Sorry, sweetie," Sherazade replied. "But I can't go any lower. My... err... my boobs are in the way." She gave him a sheepish look.

"Oh, swell..." the diver said with dread in his voice, staring down at the water far below from his perspective, and wishing the regular (and lower) diving board wasn't smashed.

"Don't hold up the line!" the lifeguard yelled at him through his megaphone from his perch on Pomeline's snout, the Para honking again, this time in an annoyed manner, and of course making the lifeguard bounce again, prompting him to glare at her sharply.

The diver was further unnerved by the lifeguard's impatience. He started to consider just walking away.

"You can do it, honey," came a surprisingly soft, kind voice. The diver turned around, and took a moment to stare into Sherazade's warm, reassuring gaze. "Just take a deep breath," she murmured. "It'll be okay."

The diver was taken aback, certainly not expecting the Stego, far larger than him, to be so comforting. Somehow, this sense of comion he felt from Sherazade eased his nerves rather quickly, and he soon forgot to be scared. Taking one more look at the height, he got into his diving position, took a deep breath as advised, and dove off, disappearing into the water before resurfacing quickly. When he did resurface, he was met with something he didn't at all expect: a chorus of cheers and clapping from the other swimmers at his feat of overcoming his fear. He couldn't help but beam proudly, though he still couldn't believe he had just done that.

"Yay!" Sherazade cheered. "I knew you could do it!"

"Beautiful form!" Pomeline chimed in. "I give it a 10!" She laughed, honking again in the middle of it, once again shaking up the lifeguard.

The lifeguard sighed and rolled his eyes. "You two are a handful..."

Pomeline finally lost patience. "Sheesh, loosen up, will ya...?" she sighed.

The lifeguard turned around to look at her eyes, narrowing his own. "My job forbids me to 'loosen up', for your information, doubly so with YOU two hazards here..."

"Oh what..." Pomeline said with an irritated honk, rolling her eyes. "Just because a couple of big scary girls like us are anywhere near you littles means no one's safe? Look how much fun THEY'RE all having."

The lifeguard looked down at the swimmers, who indeed were splashing about and having a blast among the big swells Pomeline generated with her hand. One swimmer even rode the waves on a board. He also gazed at the ones climbing up and diving off of the Stego, as well as the ones sunbathing atop Pomeline's breasts.

"See?" Pomeline said. "Everyone's having a good time, and we're just adding to the good time. If all's well, you can relax too, or can you?"

The lifeguard sighed. "I feel like that's easy for you to say..." He had to it, though, the swimmers did seem to be enjoying themselves, even under the looming presence of two giants, who ittedly had done an okay job of providing the utility of the two broken structures. Besides, he knew by know that he was wearing himself out just trying to keep them under control when it was seemingly unnecessary due to how relatively well-behaved the two of them were... relatively. "... Fine, if it'll please you," he said at last. "I'll... chill out a bit I suppose..."

"Good! See? There's nothing to worry about!" Pomeline said with a happy honk, jiggling the lifeguard again.

"Could you at least stop with the honking though?" the lifeguard said. "You're making me dizzy!"

"Uh... I hate to break it to you," said Sherazade, amused. "But you're not going to make HER stop honking. Believe me, I've tried."

Reinforcing that point, Pomeline honked again, a longer one this time, making the lifeguard bounce up and down like a jackhammer. "Yeah, sorry, little guy," she said playfully, "but it's either honky chair, or NO chair. Hee hee!"

The lifeguard looked defeated. "... You know, someone's still going to have to answer for the chair and the diving board you two broke. Just reminding you..."

"Talk to our agent then," said Pomeline.

"Agent?! What?!" the lifeguard spluttered in confusion. The only response he received, however, was yet another HOOOONK from the Para's snout, followed by the sound of giggling from both of the large scale gals.

"You know, we should come here and help more often!" Pomeline said suddenly. "It's kinda relaxing being a chair!"

"Yeah, and it's fun being a diving board, too, I have to it," said Sherazade, smiling as she watched another swimmer dive off her nose. "... Do you think they'd pay us to do this?"

"Hmm, maybe we could work some kind of deal there!" Pomeline pondered out loud.

As the two titanic dinos started conversing again, the lifeguard could only sit there, bemused, exhausted, and a little dizzy. "Large scales..." he muttered.
This one was... oddly the hardest one to come up with. I had already planned out the scenarios for the rest of the Dino Gals and One Dude, but I just wasn't sure what to do with Pomeline and Sherazade, and I wanted to put them together in something so that I wouldn't be making two separate pics for them. I got it figured out though, and it ended up being a really fun scene to draw.

Typical Pomeline making things as interesting (to the lifeguard's chagrin), and Sherazade simply going with the flow.

Enjoy!
