First and foremost: blease, don’t judge me too hard :,D .This is my first Sonic OC in, like, 8 years or so? And probably only the second one in general, ahah.
I do have a small background story for him, tho. I would also like to state that when I was writing him, I didn’t plan to put him in any specific Sonic game or comic universe, so, my apologies if the story is a bit of a mish-mash in regards to the setting.
I’m still working on his BG and will most likely change things up, but for now I have this. He's not the most special character, but i do like how he turned out. Hope you'll like him, too <3.
Solaris comes from a bloodline of healers. He can crush rings or other small pieces of gold into fine dust (He is not super strong like, say, Knuckles, in fact, it would probably be hard for him to pick up a big sack of potatoes, ahah. There is just this mystical connection between his powers and this precious metal). He then rubs the dust into his paws, which makes them glow softly and emit pleasant warmth. These glowy beans can heal up almost any wound instantly, although, if it’s something severe, sometimes it takes several healing sessions. Solaris can also help vegetation and plants grow in small patches of land. His power is not limitless, though. It is draining and he can only heal 4-5 times a day, before he starts feeling dizzy and extremely unwell.
Besides this, Solaris is just a normal mobian. He was born in a small, not very advanced village and lived there with his mother and father. When he turned 5, though, Sol’s father, who is also a healer, had to leave the village, as he was called to provide aid to their neighbouring village. But, despite that, Sol’s parents kept in touch through letters.
During his childhood, Sol actually rarely spent time with children his age. He was preoccupied with learning the ways of healing that are not just through his special abilities, but also through medical assistance, as well as helping the injured, of course. He enjoyed this, though. He ired everything his father did for the village and wanted to be like him. He was also very interested in the field of medical help and biology, too. But his constant studying and business made him a bit socially awkward. He can sometimes say things that might be a bit out of place, or get distracted with something that caught his attention mid conversation. But he is still a very kind and loving being, despite having some quirks.
When Sol was 18, his village got attacked by Dr. Eggman. The evil doctor gathered some info and was very interested in the village’s rich gold supply, and, well, the magic healing hedgehog that lived there. And so, Solaris was captured and spent half a year in captivity, before Sonic and friends managed to save him and the village from Eggman’s tyranny.
During his daring escape with the aid of the heroes, Solaris managed to help them and felt an extreme rush of adrenaline and satisfaction. He was vey happy to be of aid to those in need outside of his home, so, after all of this, he asked Sonic if he could them in helping saving the world, proposing his healing abilities and vast knowledge of medical help and biology. Thankfully, the heroes happily welcomed him into their team.
Also, after that, Sol’s village got a bit of a tech upgrade, both from Eggman’s attack and Tails’ help, so, both Sol and his mother are learning how to use more efficient ways of communicating x)
