Here's a trick: you can replace the image with the higher resolution one if you go to Submission Options -> Update Source File, just select the same file and it should display the bigger one!
If the file size is too big (more than 10MB), I recommend reducing the quality of the jpg file: between 95 and 100 the difference should be almost imperceptible.
