Lili's story as told by Tinselfire:
This is Lili from Yrrbron.
Lili lives in a world where humans are spread throughout the cosmos, but are a shadow of their former glory, reduced to prey on the brink of extinction. Most humans live in paleolithic barbarism in space age ruins, the distinction between science and sorcery has been lost, and they are rightly afraid: There are monsters everywhere in the universe.
Lili is a "ferret", a species of human that has developed carnivore traits such as muzzles and tooth combs, as well as polecat masking. These traits are convergently evolved - she is no closer related to actual ferrets than humans in general are. Her chalk skin and lack of pupils are however not species traits, but human universals in this era; humanity has speciated and looks very different from what we are used to.
As shown here Lili is just under twenty years old, shortly before achieving the quest originally intended to kill her. She is armed with a black sword - and as black swords in fantasy tend to be, one that is not what it seems - and a ray pistol left by a past lover. She is dressed in space travellers' clothes, liveried with the recognition colours of the Leg of Dog, one of the surviving starships.
