L.t.W.W. Ep 1: Where the Magic Happens Pt. 1

A couple of years ago, a dolphin and walrus couple named the Walters were sitting on the beach in their swimsuits. The dolphin had green eyes and silver hair that was tied into a ponytail. The walrus had blue eyes but didn't really have any hair. The walrus kissed his wife's cheek, but the dolphin still had an unhappy expression.
“Come on, Liz,” the walrus said, “Cheer up.”
“Ron, I know what you're trying to do,” Liz replied. “It's not working.”
“Just give me a smile.”
“But... I always wanted a child, but... The doctors...”
“I know what they said. We'll get through this. I'm sure there's an orphanage we can adopt from.” Ron and Liz nuzzled each other, with the dolphin feeling a little bit better.
“Thank you, Ronald. I'm glad I married you.”
“No prob. Come on, let's go for a swim.” The two dived into the ocean. They swam out for about a mile until they popped their heads out of the water. The two splashed around a bit like teens until Liz heard something. “What's wrong?”
“Shh. It sounds like... A baby crying.”
“A baby!?” The two swam to where the crying was coming from. They found a basket floating in the sea, and inside was a baby wolf with snow-white hair and fur. Her right eye was blue eye while the other was green. They quickly brought her back to shore and took a closer look at the wolf. “Where did it come from?”
“I don't know.” Liz took the wolf out of the basket and tried cradling it. “Shh. Quiet now. Stop crying, please.” The cub's crying got quieter and quieter, once she stopped Ron held his finger out to the baby. It grabbed on and began gently sucking on it.
“It's kind of cute. And, isn't this what you wanted?”
Liz looked at her husband and back at the baby. “Well, we can't just leave it here.”
The two had told the authorities, and they chose to look after the wolf, which they named Lucy.
When they got home, after purchasing a couple of baby products, Liz looked down at the baby. “Say hello to your new home, Lucy,” Liz said.
Liz worked at the hospital as a nurse while Ron stayed at home with their new daughter. The first year ed by and Lucy grew up.
“Okay, Lucy,” Liz said as she sat across the room from the wolf. “Come to mommy.” Lucy stood up slowly and waddled toward the dolphin who cried tears of joy. A few months later, Liz was making dinner as Lucy waddled into the room and tugged on her mother's skirt.
“Ata gs mf,” Lucy said.
“Just a minute,” Liz said as seasoned the meat.
“Pasa mas ma. Ma... ma.”
Liz stopped what she was doing and looked down at her daughter. “What did you say?”
Ron, who had followed Lucy into the kitchen picked her up. “Come on, Lucy,” he said, “Say it again.”
“Ma... ma,” Lucy said slowly. “Mama.”
Liz started tearing up again. “Oh, my gosh,” Liz wept, “Her first word.”
“That's great,” Ron said. “Lucy, can you say 'dada?'”
“Da... Da,” Lucy spoke. “Dada.”
“That's my girl.”
When Lucy was five years old, her parents took her to the beach to teach her how to swim. “Mommy, I'm scared,” Lucy said.
“Don't be scared,” Liz said. “You have your water wings. Plus, your father and I will save you if things go wrong.”
The pup slowly stepped into the water, and quickly pulled her foot out as soon as she touched it. “Lucy, you have nothing to be afraid of,” Ron said. “If it makes you feel better, we can hold your hand.” The wolf reached out to her father and mother who both held her hands.
They slowly stepped into the water and helped their daughter stay afloat, though she didn't need too much help thanks to the water wings.
“See, isn't this fun?” Ron asked.
Lucy splashed her hand in the water. She giggled a bit and did it again. The wolf tried swimming out further, but Liz stopped her. “Easy,” Liz said as she pulled Lucy closer to land. “Start out slow.”
“Okay,” Lucy said. She gave her mother a little splash, who then splashed her back.
“Lucy, do you wanna see something amazing?” Ron asked. Lucy nodded as Ron placed her on his back as he lay down in the water.
“Ronald, what are you doing?” Liz asked.
“Liz, I know what I'm doing. You hold on tight, Lu-Lu.”
Ron slowly swam out to sea with Liz following behind. “Daddy, can we go faster?” Lucy asked.
“I thought you never asked.” Ron picked up speed and his daughter got excited. She laughed at the speed her father was going at.
“Ronald, slow down!” Liz demanded.
“Liz, she's having fun.” The dolphin grabbed Lucy off her dad's back as he lost control went underwater. Once he resurfaced, he let out a nervous chuckle, making his wife and daughter chuckle.
At the age of eight, Lucy played around in the park. Ron watched her from the bench as he also read a book his wife recommended to him. Lucy was going to slide on the slide, but a bear pushed her to the side. “Hey,” Lucy cried, “I was going to climb that.”
“Well, I'm first,” the bear said as he climbed up the slide's ladder. After he slid down, Lucy tried to climb the ladder again but the bear stopped her. “This is my slide.” The wolf's ears drooped. She walked over to the swing, but the bear stopped her again. “The swings are mine too.”
“What can I play on?”
“Nothing, this playground is mine.”
“No, it's not,” said a boy's voice. They looked to see a hyena walk towards them.
“What are you going to do?” the bear asked.
“Standing up to a bully.” The hyena stood between the bear and Lucy. “Leave her alone.”
The bear clenched his teeth and he shoved the hyena back. The hyena pushed him back, then the bear punched him in the eye as the hyena tackled him to the ground. “Daddy!” Lucy cried. Ron quickly ran towards the children and helped break up the fight.
Helping him was a hyena and bear women. “Mathew,” the hyena cried helping the younger hyena up.
“Johnathan,” the bear said holding the bully by his shirt. “You and I are going to have a long talk about this.” They walked away, leaving Lucy, Ron, and the hyenas.
“What happened?” Ron asked.
“The hyena stood up for me,” Lucy said.
“You're welcome,” hyena said. “I'm Matt.”
“Mathew, are you okay?” his mother asked.
“I'm fine, mom.” Matt was surprised when Lucy hugged him.
“Nice to meet you,” Ron said to hyena. “You're son's pretty brave.”
“Thanks,” the hyena said. “I'm Amanda.”
“I'm Ron. This little wolf here is my daughter, Lucy.” Lucy smiled as she stopped hugging Matt.
“She's a cutie.” Suddenly, the clouds began to become dark as it started to rain. “Oh, dear.”
“It's okay, our house just a block away.” Amanda and Matt follow Ron and Lucy to their home. The walrus help them dry off, along with a fourteen-year-old ocelot that followed them.
“How long do we have to stay here?” the ocelot asked.
“Who is that?” Lucy asked.
“That's my sister, Zoe,” Matt explained.
“Zoe, we'll be here until the rain stops,” Amanda said to her daughter.
“Uh,” Zoe groaned. “Mom, I'm not staying at an eight-year old's house.”
“You know,” Ron said, “My wife is at work.”
“Okay,” Matt said not really interested.
“Hey, you wanna play with my toys?” Lucy asked.
“Sure,” Matt said. The hyena followed the wolf to her room where there were a couple of dolls. While Matt could see a couple of princess dolls, plushies, some action figures, albeit all female.
Lucy picked up a squirrel princess and a lemer superhero. “Lady Lemer,” Lucy said in an elegant voice for the squirrel princess, “I'm glad you could come to the ball.”
“I'm glad I could make it,” Lucy said slightly deep voice for the heroine. Matt smirked as he looked towards a silver fox in a black dress.
“I'm a bit worried about “her” coming here.”
“You don't have to. I'll help keep you safe.”
“Is that so?” Matt said in high pitched voice. He held up the fox and snatched the princess out of the wolf's hands.
“Lady Lemer, help me,” the princess cried.
“Hold on, your highness,” Lady Lemer cried as she jumped towards the vixen.
“Hello, L.L. I'm glad we can meet again,” the silver fox said.
“Devious Duchess. What do you have planned this time?”
“Oh, nothing. Just marrying the princess and getting her gold.”
“No, don't!” the princess cried. Duchess was about to kiss the squirrel's cheek but Lady Lemer jumped in and smacked her to the ground.
Ron and Amanda peeked inside and saw the kids playing along. “I think they just became friends,” Amanda said.
They did. At Lucy's tenth birthday Matt and his family were there for her. After Lucy blew out her candles, she received a present from Matt. Once Lucy opened it up and found inside was a DVD titled, “Lady Lemer & the League of Heroines.”
“Wow,” Lucy gasped. “I always wanted this.”
“Mom and I saw it at the store,” Matt said.
Lucy looked towards her parents. “Can we watch it?”
“Why not,” Ron said. He went to set up the DVD as Liz cut the cake.
“You had a good gift for your girlfriend,” Zoe said to her brother.
“She's not my girlfriend,” Matt replied to his sister in anger.
“What's a girlfriend?” Lucy asked.
“Oh, it's a female friend to a boy who is really into her,” Zoe explained.
Lucy and Matt were given their cake and they sat down on the couch. “Matt,” Lucy said, “Why do you have to leave?”
“Because,” Matt said, “My family only comes here on Summer vacation. I wish I could stay.”
“Yeah, you and your girlfriend would be happy,” Zoe said.
“She's not my girlfriend!”
“Matt, you know I'm only messing with you. Let's just watch your show.” The kids did so as they ate their cake.

At the age of sixteen, Lucy was eating dinner with her parents. Lucy now had her hair in a ponytail and she wore an emerald green crop top with same colored shorts and sandals, Liz wore a butter yellow button-up blouse, beige pants, and wedge heels. Lastly, Ron wore a white shirt, grey sweat pants, and white socks and sneakers. Liz took a deep breath as she stood up. “Lucy, your father and I have something to say,” the dolphin said.
“What is it?” Lucy asked a bit nervous.
“Well, I've been given the option to transfer to another hospital, so I can get higher pay.”
“So, we're moving,” Ron said trying to make the subject sound happier.
Lucy's ears drooped. “Listen, Lucy, I'm only doing this for you and Ron.”
“Well, where are we going?” Lucy asked.
“Berkton. It's a nice small city, you can make a lot of friends there, and there's one friend who lives there.”
“Matt? You really think he's still there?”
“Amanda told me that's where they live.”
“When do we leave?”
Lucy didn't have to wait long, after one week of arranging things, the family arrived at their new home on Phoenix Street. The house was painted white and had two stories and inside there was what every house would need. A granite kitchen to the left, a living room in the middle, and to the right was a utility room\, which also had a washing machine and dryer in it, along with some hanger for clothes.
In between the closest and the living room were the stairs leading up to four rooms, one was the bathroom and the others were the bedrooms. One for the parents, one for Lucy, and the last one for a guest of their choice.
“So, where do we start?” the elephant mover asked Liz.
“Let's get started with the living room,” Liz replied. “I would like it if you started with the rug.” The movers started work as Lucy felt her hands.
“Something wrong, Lu-Lu?” Ron asked.
“It's nothing, dad,” Lucy replied. “It's just my hands feel a little different to me.”
“How so?”
“Well, they normally feel... Well, normal. But now, it feels... I don't know how to describe it.”
“Well, how about we just take a look at your new room.” Lucy's room didn't have much yet, it didn't even have a bed in it yet. “Well, maybe it needs some work.”
“If that's true,” Liz said as surprising her husband and daughter, “You could help the movers and me with the furniture.”
“Uh, right,” Lucy said as she raced downstairs.
The sun was setting as the movers and the family finished moving. The movers drove away as the family sat down on the couch, they were tired out.
“You know, Liz,” Ron said, “We really didn't have to help them.”
“I know,” Liz replied, “But it helped move things a lot faster.”
They suddenly heard knocking on the door and Liz got up to answer it. A crocodile and chameleon, male and female respectively, were standing outside. “Hi, there,” the chameleon said. “We're the Smiths. I'm Helen, and this is my husband, Derek. We were just wanting to welcome you to the neighborhood.”
Derek didn't say much, he just simply shook the dolphin's hand. “Nice to meet you. I'm Liz Walter.”
“We brought over some of my best brownies.”
“Brownies?!” Lucy gasped as she ran to the door. Her mother stopped her before she could get her hands on the chocolate dish.
“Lucy, you haven't even had dinner yet,” Liz said. “Ron, could you come over here?” The walrus walked over to the reptile couple. “Thank you for the brownies. I'm Elizabeth, this is my husband, Ronald, and this is our daughter, Lucy.”
“Nice to meet you,” Ron said as he shook Derek's hand.
“So, why'd you come here?” Helen asked as Liz let her inside.
“Well, I'm a nurse,” Liz said. “I've transferred to the hospital in this city to get higher pay.”
Helen placed her brownies down on the kitchen counter. “Well, I hope you feel right at home.”
“Thank you. I'm sure the brownies will be delicious.”
“I'm sure they will. Our children enjoy them.”
“You have kids?”
“Two. Sam and Allie. I would like to introduce them to you, but they're visiting their friends.”
“Oh, okay.”
“I'll tell Sam's friends about Lucy. Maybe he and Matt will like to get to know her.”
“Wait, is Matt a hyena?” Lucy asked. Helen nodded, making Lucy squeal in excitement.
Later that night, Lucy could barely contain her excitement. “I can't believe I'm going to see Matt again. It's been years.”
“Lucy, calm down,” Liz said. “School is tomorrow.”
“Sorry, mom.” Lucy walked up to her room with her mother following her. She lay down in bed and looked at her hands again.
“Something wrong?”
“Kind of. My hands feel different. I don't know how to describe it. What if something goes wrong?”
“Look, I'm sure it's just from helping with the furniture. Just get some sleep.” Liz kissed her daughter on the forehead and left the room.
The wolf got comfy in her bed, but she couldn't get Matt out of her head. “I wonder if he's changed.”
Monday morning, Liz drove Lucy to school. “Alright,” Liz said, “Good luck at your new school.”
“Good luck at your job,” Lucy replied.
“Love you,” they both said. The wolf walked inside the high school and looked around. She soon found her new locker and was about to open it before she saw a seal walk over to her. She had a lavender purple short sleeves t-shirt with a jewel neckline and a lilac purple bubble skirt with matching flats. Her black hair was tousled with a cream-colored streak in it, and her eyes were sapphire blue.
“Hey,” the seal said, “I haven't seen you here before. I'm Rosie.”
“I'm Lucy,” the wolf said. “My family moved here yesterday.”
“Cool. I've gotta introduce you to my...” Rosie tripped as she turned around.
“Are you okay?”
“I'm fine. This happens all the time. I'm a bit clumsy.”
“You're also pretty cheerful.”
“And naive and dumb,” said a voice. The two girls looked to see a horse with an orange dress which was above her knees and showed a bit of cleavage. She had diamond earrings in each ear, her hair was bleach blonde and layered, her fur was tanned, and her eyes were green.
“Who are you?” Lucy asked.
“That's Jasmine Benson,” Rosie said.
“Thanks, Bubble Brain,” Jasmine said. “I don't need you to do something that even a simple-minded animal can do. I mean, you trip every ten seconds.”
“I do not.”
“I can make a pampered pony trip,” said a tomboyish voice. A lioness wearing a garnet red tank top with black jeans, black tennis shoes walked over to them. Her hair was black and tied in a high twisted bun and her eyes were brown. When the horse saw her walking towards them, she ran off. “That's what I thought.”
“Thanks, Pepper,” Rosie said.
“No prob,” the lion said. “Who's the wolf?”
“I'm Lucy,” answered Lucy.
“Oh, so that's who Sam's mom was talking about.”
“You know who Sam is?”
“Of course I do. He's my boyfriend.” After Lucy placed her things in her locker, she got to talk to Rosie and Pepper. Then they heard the bell ring.
Rosie sighed, “Well, so much for showing you around.”
“It's okay,” Lucy said. “I'm sure we'll meet again at lunch.”
“Alright,” Pepper said. “I'll introduce you to the boys there.” The three girls split up and headed to their classes.
Everything seemed pretty uneventful. Lucy simply talked to some animals who wanted to know more about her. When it was time for lunch, Lucy found Pepper and Rosie getting their trays.
“Hey, Lucy,” Rosie said. “What do you think about this school?”
“It's just like my old school,” Lucy said. “Wish it had my old friends.”
“You wanna talk about it?” Pepper asked.
“No, my parents helped me get over it. Anyways, where are your friends?”
“There's right over there,” Rosie said. The seal and lion guided the wolf to a table with a swan, a panda, a chameleon, and a hyena. The swan was female while the other three were male. The swan wore a light pink sleeveless shirt with a darker pink slit skirt, Mary Janes, and glasses, the panda wore a black t-shirt and slate blue jeans and black boots, the chameleon wore a jade green hoodie over a white t-shirt and matching beanie with tan shorts and matching sneakers, and lastly, the hyena wore a wood brown t-shirt, blue jeans which had a few rips around his knees, and tan sneakers, which had seen better days.
The swan had snow-white hair that was braided to reach her shoulders and also sky blue eyes, the panda had a black crew cut and brown eyes, the chameleon had a sage green pageboy and yellow-brown eyes, and the hyena had shaggy black hair and blue eyes.
“Hey, guys,” Rosie said placing her tray down. “Pepper and I met the new girl.”
“Hi,” Lucy said timidly.
“Nice to meet you,” the panda said. “My name is Kia. The swan is Mira, the chameleon's Sam, and the hyena is Mathew. But he likes being called Matt.”
“Wait, Matt?”
“Yeah, that's what he said,” Rosie said.
Lucy sat next to the hyena. “Hey, do you know a wolf with water type parents?”
“Yeah, why would you ask?” Matt questioned. Lucy fluttered her eyelashes as Matt soon knew who he was talking to. “Lucy?”
“Yep.”
“Oh my gosh, I haven't seen you in years.”
“I know. I think I saw you in my classes earlier. Where have you been?”
“We stopped vacationing.”
“I'm sorry,” Mira said, “You're Lucy?”
“Yeah,” Lucy replied. “Matt's family would visit me during the summer.”
“Wow,” said Jasmine from a different table, “I never knew the new girl would be into broke slobs.”
“Shut it,” Pepper cried.
“Slob?” Lucy asked. “What is she...?”
“Hey, Lucy,” Matt interrupted. “What if I told you about my friends. I see you already met Pepper and Rosie.”
“Yeah, but I didn't get to know much about them.”
“Well, let's break the ice,” Rosie said. “I'm part of the swim team.”
“There's a swim team? I swam all the time with my parents. In fact, our house has a pool. What about you Pepper?”
“I'm part of the school's basketball team,” Pepper said, “Along with Matt. I try a new sport every season.”
“I'm part of the gymnastics team,” Mira said feeling a little nervous. “Sorry to interrupt.”
“No, you're fine. Sam, what sport do you do?”
“I'm... not very athletic.”
“It's what you get for being a geek,” said a male voice. Sam was smacked in the back of the head by a zebra jock.
“Who was that?” Lucy asked.
“That's Jasmine's boyfriend, Stanley,” Sam groaned.
“They were made for each other,” Kia said.
“Made to make us annoyed,” Pepper said.
“I'll try to avoid them in the future,” Lucy said.
“Good luck with that,” Matt said.
The rest of the day was pretty uneventful for Lucy, though she was ecstatic she got to be with Matt again. When school was over, Lucy saw a rusty gremlin car driving into the school's parking lot.
“Hey, Matt, get in,” said a young adult ocelot. The ocelot had black hair and blue eyes. She also wore a red short-sleeved shirt with a scoop neck, blue pants, gold hoop earrings, and red converse shoes. Matt climbed into the gremlin as Lucy took a look at the ocelot. “Who's the wolf?”
“Zoe?” Lucy guessed, “Is that you?”
“How do you know my name?”
“Zoe, this is Lucy,” Matt said, “?”
“Wait, Lucy?” Zoe questioned getting a good look at the wolf. “Wow, you've changed.”
“I can say the same for you,” Lucy replied. “You wanna come to my house today?”
“Sure,” Matt said. Just then, Ron drove up to the school to pick Lucy up. He drove her home as Zoe and Matt followed in the gremlin. It didn't take long for them to get back to the house, and Zoe was immediately jealous.
“Wow, nice,” she said with a bit of an attitude.
“Let me show you around,” Lucy said. She let the hyena and ocelot inside and show them her new house. “So, just make yourself at home.”
Matt looked around, rather impressed by the building. “So, where have you been?” Ron asked.
“It's a bit... Complicated,” Matt replied.
“Okay, then don't explain.”
“Yeah, this house is nice,” Zoe said sarcastically. “Some animals are so lucky to have the money they need.”
“You wanna say something?” Ron asked.
“Hey, Lucy,” Matt said, “Could you show me around.”
“Oh, yeah,” Lucy said. “Follow me.” Matt followed the wolf to her room. Lucy sat on her bed as her hands felt weird again.
“Something wrong?”
“It's my hands. I just don't...” Before Lucy could finish a green beam shot out of her hand. It ricocheted off the walls and flew out of the room and down the stairs.
“I'm home from work,” Liz said stepping into the house. Ron welcomed her back with a hug and a kiss. “Happy to see you too. Is Lucy home?”
“Oh, yeah,” Ron said, “She's up... WHOA!” The walrus and dolphin ducked before the green beam could hit them.
“What the heck is going on?” Zoe asked.
“I don't know,” Lucy said as she and Matt ran downstairs.
“Lucy, who are the hyena and ocelot?” Liz asked.
“Mom, I think you Matt and Zoe from my childhood.”
“While I like to meet up with old friends this is not the best time.” The beam kept flying all over the room until it made with Zoe's chest, before disappearing.
“What the heck was that?!” Zoe asked in anger.
“I don't know,” Lucy said. “I was just showing Matt when some beam came shot out from my hands.
“Can we try to forget that happened?” Ron asked.
“Sure,” Liz said. “So, Matt, Zoe, how has life treated you?”
“Pretty good,” Matt said.
“Yeah,” Zoe said. “Life iS jUSt...” Zoe covered her mouth at the sound of her voice.
“Are you feeling okay?” Liz asked.
“I don't know.” Zoe's now sounded like it belonged to a teenage girl instead of her sounding like a young adult.
“Zoe, your pants,” Matt whispered pointing to his sister's pants now much looser.
“Where's your bathroom?”
“Second door to the right,” Ron said. Zoe bolted upstairs and into the bathroom to look at the mirror so she could get a better look at herself.
The first thing she noticed was that her clothes were much baggier than before, she tried to fix her pants but they were still loose. Her shirt's sleeves were starting to hang over her hands, she pulled them back but could see her fingers looked fatter as if her baby fat was back.
“What's happening to me?” Zoe's voice now sounded like a little girl's voice. She gave up on trying to secure her pants as she could see that the door looked like it grew in size, but then why were her clothes be bigger. Zoe could come to one conclusion, she was shrinking.
There was a loud banging coming from outside. “Zoe, are you okay?” Matt asked from outside. Zoe locked the door so her brother couldn't see what was going on. “Did you lock the door?”
“Don't come in,” Zoe tried to make her voice sound deep, but that was harder than she thought. She felt her muzzle shrink in size which made her look cute. Her fur was getting softer as her hair started getting sucked back into her skull.
Zoe kept shrinking as she looked down to see her breasts shrank away until she was flat. Suddenly, she felt her panties get thicker, she looked under her shirt and saw she now wore a light green diaper. “Ga past mah.” Zoe fell onto her rear which was softened thanks to her new diaper. She looked around and cried as she was now a baby.
Ron managed to unlock the door and opened it. He didn't see Zoe, just a crying Zorua wearing an oversized shirt. He picked her up and unlocked the door. “I didn't see Zoe, but I found this little cutie,” he said to Matt.
The hyena took a good look at the crying ocelot who was reaching for him. He knew he saw the hoop earrings in the baby's ears. “Zoe?” he questioned as he took her from Ron, making her stop crying.
“This can't be Zoe.”
“Well, where is she? And why does this baby have her shirt and earings?” Zoe's bra fell out from under her shirt. “And a bra?”
The boys took the ocelot downstairs, where the girls were sitting on the couch. “Where did that baby come from?” Liz asked.
“Liz, I might sound crazy, but I think this is Zoe.”
“I think he might be right,” Ron said.
“That's impossible,” Liz said.
Matt sat his now baby sister down on the floor. She tried to stand up but her legs weren't strong enough. “Zoe,” Matt said, “If that really is you, walk or crawl over to Lucy.” Zoe got on her knees and crawled over the worried wolf.
“I-I-I think I may have an idea how this happened,” Lucy stuttered.
They all jumped when the heard a knocking on the door. “Crud,” Liz cried.
“What we do?” Ron asked as he was about to panic.
“Matt, hide Zoe in Lucy's bedroom.”
“Okay,” Matt said as Lucy gave him his sister. As the hyena ran upstairs Liz looked through the front door's peephole and saw a red fox. She had a scarlet red hime-cut and she wore a dark green gown that matched her eyes and she wore white loafers and a necklace with a white crystal hanging from it.
“Who is it?” Lucy asked.
“A fox,” Liz replied. The fox said knocked again and Liz opened the door.
“Hello, Mrs. Walter,” the fox said.
“How do you know my name?”
“I'll explain later. I need to talk to Lucy.”
“Is she one of your teachers?” Ron asked.
“I've never seen her before,” Lucy replied.
“You don't have to be afraid,” the fox said. “My name is Glinda.” There was a bit of crying from upstairs and Glinda suddenly floated into the house and upstairs.
“Hey, stop,” Liz demanded.
Glinda floated upstairs and was about to open Lucy's bedroom door where she heard the crying. The wolf quickly got in her way. “Ms., what are you doing?” Lucy asked. “And how did you do that?”
“I only want to help you,” Glinda replied. She reached for the doorknob but Lucy grabbed her hand.
“You can't go into my room.”
“Why?” There was more crying and Glinda looked at Lucy. “It sounds like there a baby who needs some help.”
“You can't go in there.”
“Suit yourself.” Glinda went transparent and flew through Lucy and the door, making the wolf shiver a bit. The fox saw Matt sitting on Lucy's bed cradling Zoe.
Lucy's room had the bedsheets colored green with red pillows and a side table to the left of the bed. There were some bookshelves against the wall, with one of the three shelves filled with fantasy books as the other books varied on genres. There was a hairbrush, phone, and laptop sitting on top of the bookshelves.
“Zoe, stop crying,” Matt pleaded as the ocelot cried her eyes out.
“I think I might be able to help.” Lucy and her parents opened the door and saw Glinda floating over to Zoe and tried to be as comforting as possible. “Don't cry Zoe.”
“How do you know her?” Matt asked.
“You have a lot of questions to answer,” Liz said a bit angry. Glinda set Zoe down on the floor and zapped the baby ocelot with a green beam. In half a minute, Zoe grew back up to a young adult and back to 5'7”. Zoe still had her shirt on and her diaper turned back into panties.
“What.. the heck... Just happened?” Zoe asked as she managed to regain her footing.
“Answers, now.”
“I'm sorry if I was rude,” Glinda said. “Your daughter is very special.”
“Special like how?” Lucy asked.
“You are a mage. You can do several different spells.”
“Like, how I made Zoe a baby?”
“Precisely.”
“Yeah, could you let me through?” Zoe asked. “I need to get my pants back.”
“Of course,” Glinda said. Zoe raced back to the bathroom to get her pants and bra back.
“So, how does Lucy do these spells?” Ron asked.
“I think this will help.” Glinda showed a hardcover book. The cover was purple and had a hand with a spiral in the middle of it.
“What's the hand for?” Lucy asked.
“It's a special lock. Just place your hand on it.” Lucy did so, and after a flash of red, yellow, and orange, even emerald green. When the wolf took her hand off the book, the hand mold was gone, but the spiral was still there. “Now, this book will only open if you open it.”
Glinda handed the book to Ron, he tried to open it but it wouldn't budge, the same thing happened to Liz, but when Lucy tried to open it, she did. “Thanks, I guess.” The wolf saw that there was a phone number on the back of the cover.
“If you ever need some more help, give me a call.” Glinda then handed the wolf a small box. Inside was a pair of white gloves and a wand. “These gloves will help block some of your magic, wearing them while using this wand will help you control your magic."
“Th... Thanks.”
“You welcome. Now, I have to get going.” And with that, Glinda flew out of the window and was soon out of sight.
“This was weird,” Ron said.
“You think?” Zoe asked as she walked past them. “Matt, we're leaving.”
“We just got here,” Matt said.
“And after what I've been through, we're leaving.” Zoe grabbed her brother's hand and dragged him out of the Walters' house.
“I'll see you at school tomorrow,” Lucy said.
“Bye, Lucy,” Matt said.
When night fell, the house had been quiet for hours. Lucy was sitting on one of the chairs in the living room reading the book Glinda gave her while wearing her new gloves that blended in with her fur and looking over to her new wand which was sitting on the coffee table.
“Ron, talk to her,” Liz whispered to the walrus.
“Why me?” Ron asked.
“She takes advice better from you.”
“But what do I say?”
“Just go talk to her, she looks terrible.”
“Okay, I'll try my best.” Ron walked over and sat on the couch next to Lucy. “Hey, sweetie.” Lucy just kept reading her book. “Look, I know what happened today was weird.”
“Dad, what do you think Matt will say about this?” Lucy asked.
“Hey, first impressions aren't everything. Like how I met your mother.”
“Dad, you accidentally spilled some soda on mom's skirt. I turned Zoe into a baby.”
“Look, you didn't mean too. I'm sure Matt will forgive you for it.”
Lucy sighed as she closed her book. “I'm going to bed.”
“Now? It's not even ten.”
Lucy didn't reply and just walked into her bedroom. She untied her ponytail, placed her book in her side table drawer, and turned off the lights. Lying down in bed, Lucy sighed. She was worried about what Matt would say in the morning.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Lucy looked out of the car window as Ron drove her to school. “Come on, Lucy,” Ron said, “Give me a smile.” The wolf just let out a sigh. “It's not the end of the world. Besides, I don't think anyone would believe Matt or Zoe if they tell someone.” Ron stopped in front of the high school. “Promise me that you'll have a good day.”
Lucy gave a simple nod as she stepped out of the car and walked inside the school. The wolf walked over to her locker and opened it to find a bunch of empty cans.
“Hey, new girl,” Jasmine said. “If your dating trash boy I thought I'd help decorate your locker.” The mean girl walked away laughing as Lucy cleaned the cans out of her locker.
“Ignore her,” Kia said as he walked over to Lucy with Matt to help clean up the cans.
The wolf and hyena looked at each other in silence for a minute. “Hey,” Lucy said awkwardly.
“Hey,” Matt replied feeling the same way. The boys cleaned up the cans as Lucy got her books.
“Something wrong?” Kia asked noticing the two feeling awkward around each other.
“It was something that happened at my house,” Lucy said.
“Did your dad do something embarrassing?”
“No,” Matt said, “But it was weird.”
“I have to get to my classes,” Lucy said. She quickly ran off and Matt ran in the opposite direction.
At lunch, Lucy could see Matt sitting with his friends. “Hey, Lucy,” Rosie said waving to her. Lucy sat at a different table by herself.
“What's wrong with her?” Sam questioned.
“Maybe she's homesick,” Mira said.
“That doesn't explain what was awkward about her and Matt,” Kia said. “Matt can you...” Kia saw that the hyena had gotten up so he could sit with Lucy.
“Oh, hey, Matt,” Lucy said feeling nervous. “You didn't tell anyone about what happened to Zoe, did you?”
“No,” he replied, “Even if I did I don't anyone would believe me.”
They were quiet for a minute as they ate their lunch. “So... How is Zoe?”
“She's pretended what happened didn't happen. Couldn't blame her.”
“Okay. So, can I come over to your house after school?”
“Check with your parents first. I doubt that Zoe will say yes.” The two kept talking as Jasmine, Stanley, and Matt's friends tried to listen to what they were saying.
After a long day of school, Zoe drove up to the school. Matt got on board but when Lucy tried to open the door she tried to drive off. “Hey, what are you doing?” Lucy asked.
“Getting away from you,” Zoe said.
“Zoe,” Matt said a touch angry. “Just let Lucy ride with us.”
“Fine.” Lucy climbed into the back seat and the three drove off.
“So, Zoe, do you have a job?” Lucy asked.
“Yeah, of course. Why do you ask?”
“Because you look like a waitress.”
Zoe's uniform was a red waitress dress that looked like it was from the 80s. “Yeah, it's my job. In other news, the sky's blue, birds can fly, and I don't want to talk about my past.”
Lucy stayed quiet until she got to Zoe and Matt's home, which was a run-down motel. They walked into their room with Lucy seeing something taped to their door. “Final Notice,” the note said. The motel room had two beds, a TV, a closet, a microwave, and the entire place was a mess.
“So, this is where you live?” Lucy asked.
“Yeah,” Matt said rather embarrassed. “It's not much but it's home.”
Zoe had picked up her everyday shirt and walked into the bathroom to change. Matt turned on the TV which had a lot of static.
“What about your mother?” Lucy asked. “Shouldn't she help you out.” Matt's expression fell as he tried to hide his tears. “Oh... Did she...?” He slowly nodded. “Matt... I'm so sorry.”
“It's okay, you get used to it after a few years,” Matt replied.
“How long?”
“Three years.” The two stood silently for what seemed like a minute.
Zoe walked out of the bathroom and sat on her bed. Lucy didn't say anything to make things worse. “Okay, I've had enough,” Zoe said, “What the heck was that yesterday?”
“I don't know,” Lucy replied. “The book Glinda gave me is the only clue I can get.”
“You know how weird it was to go through puberty in three seconds?”
“Zoe, shut up,” Matt cried.
“Oh, sorry,” Zoe said, “I didn't know you regress to baby and it had... A lot of possibilities.”
“Excuse me?”
“No need for work, bills, I could just play all day.”
“Zoe?” Lucy asked. “I didn't affect your mind, did I?”
“No, it's just... I kind of want to do that again.”
“You sure, because I'm still trying to figure out how to work my wand.”
“Hey, I'm looking for any excuse to leave this place.” A ceiling suddenly fell next to them. “That's a good reason why.”
“Okay. It is pretty depressing here.” The three left the motel and drove back to Lucy's place.
Ron and Liz were watching TV when they walked into the house. “Hey, Lucy,” Ron said. “How was your friend's place?”
“You don't wanna know,” Matt said.
Zoe followed Lucy to her bedroom. The wolf took the book out of her drawer and opened it up to age regression spells. “Zoe, are you sure about this?” Lucy asked. “I haven't practiced any of these spells.”
“Well, now's a good time to start,” Zoe said. “Give me a zap.” Lucy double-checked her spell, grabbed her wand, and pointed it towards Zoe.
“How young do you want to get?”
“I'd like to actually walk around so, how about five?”
“Okay.” Lucy focused as much as she could but all that came out were small green sparks. “Sorry, Zoe, I don't feel like risking it.”
“Fine. I felt weird saying yes to this anyway.” Zoe walked towards the bathroom but accidentally opened the door to the guest room. “What's this?”
Lucy walked over to see what Zoe was looking at. “Oh, that? The guest room came with the house.”
“So, no one's using it?” Lucy shook her head. “Then I'll use it.”
“What?”
“Lucy, you saw the motel. Please? We need a better home.”
“I know, I saw the notice. Look, I'll talk to my parents.”
“They want to do what?” Liz asked in confusion after hearing what Zoe said.
“Look, a part of the ceiling fell down today,” Zoe said, “Matt and I need a new home. And I can't afford anything else.”
“Not to mention getting me through school,” Matt said. “I'm lucky to have my friends help me out.”
“They're not lying mom,” Lucy said. “We can make it work.”
“Well,” Liz said rubbing her chin, “I guess Zoe could stay in the guest room, but what about Matt?”
“I could sleep on the couch for a while,” Matt said.
“I guess that works,” Ron said.
The dolphin sighed. “Alright, let's see what we can do.”
Later that evening, Zoe was returned to her normal age and she and Matt were packing up their suitcases with their clothes. “You know,” Zoe said pausing, “I am not going to miss this place.” The brought out their suitcases and placed them in the trunk of Liz's car.
Matt took a final looked at the place before closing the door and stepping into Liz's car. “Feeling better?” Lucy asked.
“Yeah,” Matt said. “Thanks for taking us in.”
“It's no problem,” Liz said. They drove back to the house and as they brought the suitcases inside, Sam walked from his house towards Matt.
“Matt, what are you doing here?” Sam asked. “And what's with the suitcase?”
“Well, because of the situation of our home, Zoe and I are moving in with the Walters,” Matt replied.
“I guess that means the jocks can't mock you about living in a trashy home.”
Matt chuckled. “I don't think that's going to be their only ammo. I've gotta go unpack.” Matt walked inside and unpacked his clothes in the walk-in closet. He and the other got dressed for bed and the hyena lied down on the couch.
“You sure you're okay with this?” Liz asked.
“I'll be fine. It's much better the flattened mattress at our old place.”
“If you say so. Goodnight.”
After Zoe and the Walters walked upstairs, Matt turned the lights off, he tried to get comfy but he felt like he was getting squished while lying on the couch. He opened his eye he saw a light, which was coming Lucy's wand as she walked over to him.
“Hey, Matt,” Lucy said quietly. “You getting comfy?”
“Not really,” Matt replied. “I'm too big. You weren't thinking of turning me into a kid, were you?”
“No, I'm going to test my spell on other things before I try animals.”
“So, why did you come down here?”
“...I was wondering... There's extra space on my bed.”
“Are you saying...?”
“I want you to share my bed.” There was silence from the two of them, even when they both got into the same bed.
“Thanks for this,” Matt said breaking the silence. “Thanks for this. Not just the bed, but the new home.”
“You're welcome,” Lucy replied. “I was actually going to ask my parents if you could move in. I didn't know mom would actually say “yes.”
They turned the light off they went to sleep. At first, they kept their distance on the bed, but Lucy tried to crawl closer to the hyena. Matt proceeds to do the same and when they were both hugging each other, they smiled.

Arthuor's Note: I ed this twice since I made a bit of an error.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
