Mynna grew up within a wealthy noble family, she had many brothers and sisters of varying personalities and goals in life. But for Mynna while others in her family did their best to get themselves out there in life, to be the top in their parent's eyes for favors down the line, Mynna was a quiet one. She always kept to herself and spent her time growing up in the family's library, she enjoyed reading the books and stories within them, tales of adventure and excitement were always enjoyable reads for her. But Mynna wasn't capable of combat and she knew she would fair poorly if she ever had to fight, so she just enjoyed reading such tales. Other genres of fiction she enjoyed were mysteries, things with a twist that caught the eye and made one think hard on just what could be happening.
Because Mynna spent most of her time alone reading she was not very close to others, not even her own family as her parents ignored her existence since she did not try to grab their attention. Her other siblings also didn't try to interact with her either, since she kept to herself they felt it to be a waste of time to try talking with her. They felt that going out of their way to forging a bond with her would not help them be written into their parent's will upon their ing. Every so often large noble parties were held at the Volstruck Estate, although while everyone socialized Mynna remained within the archives away from all the noise. But one day a man wandered into the archives, he looked somewhat lost as he looked around slightly confused as to where he was. As he went to leave realizing this area seemed empty and wasn't a part of the festivities he saw Mynna sitting at a table reading by herself, only a lantern to illuminate the pages of her book. Maybe it was the lighting or just the fact the man had never seen Mynna before even after the many parties he had attended in this residence.
He walked up to her slowly before speaking up to get her attention, he introduced himself as Jad Tweedsmire, a noble that lived not too far from the Volstruck estate, just a couple of towns away. He asked the name to who he was talking too, at first he thought she might be from a new noble family, or potentially just a servent on a break, but was surprised to hear she was one of the many daughters to the owner of the mansion. He had never seen her, never heard of her and he had been to the Volstruck residence many a time, his family not missing any party held here. Jad knew all of Sir Volstrucks siblings by name, they all went out of their way to introduce themselves, even showing off what talents they had, things they could offer to his parent's family, potential deals for the future. Yet Mynna was never once talked about, never brought up in conversation, mentioned, if he had looked about he always saw family paintings yet no sign of her in any of them, it was almost as if she was just a ghost.
Mynna told Jad that she was probably never mentioned because she always opted to keep to herself. She didn't like the parties because they were always loud, the people always had fake smiles and offered their hands for deals, and never had anything to do with actually wanting to know one another. She didn't want to be just a stepping stone for someone else's story, she'd rather make her own at that point. Mynna told Jad that the reason she was left out of conversation was that she never bothered to fight for her parent's favor, her siblings wanted to be in good sight just to get a cut of their family's wealth when their parents ed. She doubted that any of her siblings actually cared about their parents, she said that she loved her mother and father, even if they didn't pay her any attention, because her love was real as she cared not for the family fortune. Jad found her words to be genuine, they showed her caring and kind nature, she looked at him as a person, not something that could further her goals as she seemed not to openly have any. When talking to her siblings Jad found they always brought up business, goals for the future, promises for great things, but Mynna offered nothing but a conversation on her hobby of reading. She treated Jad like an individual, and maybe that was one of the reasons he fell for her, so Jad stayed at the archives to talk with her more.
As time went on every party that happened Jad spent his time with Mynna in the archives until he would just come over just to see her even when no party was happening. The two became great friends, and after much time soon became lovers. Jad was more extroverted compared to Mynna being very introverted, yet the two got along great, eventually, Jad was even able to get Mynna to leave the archives from time to time. Mynna's parents actually took a bit of notice to her after they found another nobles son was wishing to wed her in the future. Her parents began to notice just how Mynna felt about them, how she seemed to actually care for them and not just their wealth, which put her way more in favor to get it compared to her other siblings that had constantly tried so hard to be at the tops of their minds.
That did not sit well with any of her siblings, all their work would be for naught, given to nothing but a ghost in the family...
Time ed, another party was being held at the Volstruck estate, and this time Jad managed to convince Mynna to attend it. Although she preferred to stay near the edge of the room to get away from most of the guests. Jad did not mind that at all, he knew she wasn't much of a people person and was just happy she was there with him. As the party went on into the night, Mynna was talking with Jad and a couple of other guests that had taken interest in her presence before a gust of wind blew out all of the candles lighting up the room, coating the place in darkness. There was slight murmuring as many nobles complained about such a thing happening and wondered just when someone was going to do something about the situation. Mynna got a very bad feeling as if something horrible was going to happen, in all the mystery books the lights going out was always the start of that. She whispered to Jad that she was worried as something felt very off, before he could try to ease her worries there was the shout of pain that echoed throughout the room. With a flash of lightning Mynna and a good couple of guests saw what looked like a masked figure standing at the top of the ballroom stairs wielding a bloody axe, a body laying at their feet. As another flash of lightning struck outside illuminating the room, Mynna and Jad saw more masked figures holding weapons coming from the darkness.
The next few seconds was utter chaos, many guests started panicking and freaking out as screams and shouts echoed within the large room. It was a blood bath as many nobles were struck down by the masked men, Jad grabbed Mynna by the hand and the two began to run towards a door to get out of the ballroom. A masked man jumped forward to try and Axe Mynna, but Jad decked them hard in the face stopping their attack, but the masked man quickly turned their attention to Jad who quickly grabbed at the man's weapon as he struggled to fend him off. Mynna went to help only to be confronted by another masked man, she knew she couldn't take them on so she quickly ran out of the ballroom as the sounds of chaos continued.
She could only hope that Jad would be alright, looking behind her she saw the masked individual chasing after her, making her wonder if she would be herself...
