Today marks the start of Asexual Awareness Week, which aims to sensitize people about our community. I have known that I am asexual for a long time but coming to with that was not an easy process. Today I am proud of who I am because I know that my orientation does not make me less valid, or less of a person. That is why I celebrate this occasion, to extend this message to all those who, like I once did, feel confused and need a word of encouragement.
