Calling him both The Hollow Knight and The Vessel bothers me, but the effort in making this look in-game is enough to make me appreciate this. I mean, the workaround on the foreground alone.

Technically, the player character is just "the Knight" or "the Vessel." "The Hollow Knight" is...hard to explain without going deep into spoiler territory.
