*THERE IS A STORY BELOW THE DESCRIPTION*
There are some occasions when a close friend goes on to create something and I want to contribute, to help somehow. With my artist friends, it comes with me giving the opportunity for me to create a piece of literature to go along their creation, the fruit of their labor. I offered my own take on Zombietwink62 and Tracypocky's latest creation and they were pretty eager to see me do my stuff.
And I had fun doing this.
This is Doku, a blue Scorpman that hails from Sequin Land. This is a Shantae OC created by the two aforementioned artists who wanted to go against the grain of those kind of enemies with a femboy version of them. Usually, Scorpmen are big, burly and crimson-skinned fiends who attacks Shantae with their darts and their large, muscular body. They're fearsome foes...but both artists here wanted a more hypno-focused, twink take on the concept and seeing him gave me ideas...and then they allowed me free rein to give him a background, which I did. I linked him to many lesser-known enemies and concepts, trying to give him an arc and a more legendary little approach in order to make him seem grand and fun and I think it shows.
If you want to see the original one (this is a retooled one), you can see it here. Be warned however that this version has something in it that starts with P and rhymes with tennis that can be seen: https://www.deviantart.com/zombietw.....pion-877242282
If you enjoy my work and the tales I write, I do have a Patreon you can check out right here, with plenty of material available for free, without a need for a pledge: https://www.patreon.com/incredibleintruder
And now, enjoy this little Shantae fan-tale with our femboy monstrous character here. ;)

THE BLUE SCORPION
Once upon a time in Sequin Land, a special being was born.
These vast regions of multiples environments, filled with magic, dangers and wonders had its large selection of unique and decidedly fantastical people. From the half-genie heroine of Scuttle Town to the dastardly pirate Risky Boots, many names from there had spread around through tales and legends that would be told through centuries and even further, gathering dread and hope alike from all people who were interested to ever travel there. While not all could hope to rival those two, there were more than a few notable individuals whose talent, deeds and destiny could somewhat be told and build up interest.
The being in question was born in the desert, in the merciless dunes where the wind meets the sand in order to create sandstorms and warmth unlike many had ever seen. Within these desolate acres of land could easily be found monsters and creatures of which many travelers would warn others about, violent and territorial beings who would defend their arid landscape with pride and with just a touch of brutality. Cacti critters, large beetles, nagas...many of them a threat on their own, but none could top the apex predator amongst these parts: the Scorpmen and Scorpgals. Usually divided, never ed, there was ever the time when a couple would form among them and raise a family, their own individualistic, proud and brutal nature set aside for the brightness and warmth of love to pave its way into their heart. Those red-skinned, volcanic-minded beings were brigands and opportunists, believing themselves to be the masters and mistresses of the desert, not always collaborating together and yet they were fierce and proud when it came to being themselves. As such, when two of them met, romanced one another through battle and then another kind of grappling altogether, they eventually made it possible for the hero of our tale to be born: Doku the Blue Scorpion, named like this for his rather unique pigmentation and chitin color. While all of his people were of crimson color due to their hot-blooded nature and the heat of the sun, this one was born otherwise which made him an object of curiosity, both wonder and terror in a way.
Despite his unnatural appearance, both of his parents nevertheless raised him to the best of their abilities, the young Doku ing time with his mother and then his father as the different genders did not live in the same regions of the desert, save for when they wanted to spend some time as a family in neutral ground. Both the Scorpmen and Scorpgals had rather similar values, in a way, asking for their youth to fight and to be strong to preserve their way of life, their supremacy in the desert which could only be challenged by a select few, for their might was the stuff of tall tales with most of them being true. To challenge one, even as a seasoned warrior, was to run the risk of being either slice-and-diced or merely be stung with their potent venom. Try as he might, for he did love his parents and wanted to make them proud, Doku was not just different in color, but also in personality as he had traits that very, very few possessed. He was coquettish, greatly enjoying taking care of his appearance instead of his muscles, his lean and and svelte upper body being easily misunderstood by the others like him. Some thought his training was just lacking and opted to assist him instead while a few simply supposed that he wasn't eating well and enough, providing meals and copious amount of nourishment...yet neither were in the right as Doku was simply something that they didn't quite know how to deal with: different.
Where a few of the others kids wanted to know how to wield a scimitar or to extend their tail in the sand to attack unsuspecting travelers, he wanted to make sure people would be able to see his hair beneath his turban. When the Scorpgals and Scorpmen made him tag along to defend their territory, others had to defend him as his fighting prowess's were far behind them, with him actually trying to learn how to dance by checking out one of the very few the Scorpion people feared: the purple-haired half-genie. Whenever she roamed around, many steered clear from her while he observed, finding her style rather incredible as if they were afraid of her...then she must be doing something right. She wasn't tall, muscular or even that strong-looking...yet her magical dance and her hair were terrors to behold as she whacked away opponents as if they were nothing. With this example in mind, he thought that perhaps he could be mighty in his own way, that he could simply be useful otherwise then in the traditional fashion. As such he conserved his own radical reimagining of how he should look and what he should do, venturing between his masculine look with many traits borrowed from how women could be, an androgynous appearance that made a great many raise a few questions, some of them being of more intimate taste and if it was normal to feel that way when seeing him.
Nevertheless, Doku wanted to belong and in a way he did, for the Scorpion people were proud even of those they did not understand nor really saw any use to in their tribe...yet to say he didn't struggle would be false. He had to fend off offers and directions, suggestions given to him constantly, with them trying to make him fit the mold that they knew of while he was the kind rebel who sought only to be himself. It was arduous, at times fastidious even and yet he held on as a chance encounter would change absolutely everything in his life.
It was during a patrol with his father, the two of them being on rather shaky ground with one another as he wanted to be proud of his son and for his progeny to perpetuate his legacy, something that seemed rather unlikely to him given how scrawny Doku was. He feared of him to be felled by pretty much anything, opting to make him train alongside him so that he would not find ridicule by his only child being defeated and killed by a mere beetle or even an unseasoned would-be warrior. As they scouted the dunes which formed the domains of the Scorpmen, his father looked at Doku's unbladed tail tip, a deformity which did not help with their reputation as he thought of perhaps teaching a different way to approach their foe in case of the possibility of putting an ambush on people.
“My son...look here. This robed man travels alone, without an escort or any weapon openly-wielded. It is easy picking for us and so I shall teach you how to intimidate, how to defeat your opponent without even lifting a finger, watch closely,” the father said, thinking that perhaps giving him lessons in being a legitimate threat would give Doku confidence, presuming that this might be the problem. As he approached their target, indeed weak-looking at first glance, he then lifted his bladed tail tip, displayed his muscles openly and crossed his arms in order to look taller and more imposing, revealing himself to the enemy. “Halt, intruder! You cross our lands and this is an insult, an affront to us. Leave all your belonging, beg for your life and I may show you-”
The words came, yet were never uttered as they died in his throat as something impossible and very frightful occurred: he couldn't think. His thoughts were somewhat vanishing, disappearing quickly as his mind was clouded by the sight of two bright eyes bombarding him not just with colors of the most alluring kind, but also power that made him feel small, helpless...and uncannily relaxed. The fight in his mind was long gone as he faltered, his threats becoming all too laughable in the sight of his current stance as the colors invaded everything, that sumptuous and mighty gaze claiming everything until it became all that was and would be. In a trance, he could only then hear the voice of the one who owned such a powerful stare as he spoke.
“Fool, I have no time for this. I am to build an empire of merchandise to finance my evil deeds...” the man said, his skull-head aglow and revealed as some inner flame seemed to animate his skeleton body beneath his ample robes as he approached the Scorpman who was stupid enough to defy him. “You must not have heard of the Hypno Baron...bah, I might have need of you and shall turn you into-”
It was then that Doku showcased his bravery in another way, not frightful of confrontation when it came to those he cherished as while his father did not understand him...he still loved him all the same. “No, please! He only wanted to show me how to defend myself and...do not hurt him!” Doku said, full of energy as while he knew that begging would not help his reputation, it might just save the life of his father. The strong preyed on the weak and that man was definitely of the former kind, though how he managed to defeat his father without uttering a single word, with but his eyes was an appealing mystery. It seemed like there were many kind of ways to be strong and this was one more, yet now was not the time for such thoughts as Doku was petrified, yet determined to protect his father. “I'll do anything you want, just leave him be!”
“Very well...I have no stomach to hurt youngsters and it seems that killing him might just make you start a vendetta against me,” the Hypno Baron said with a sigh, already annoyed by this obstacle in his course as he just started to go away, leaving Doku's father brain-addled for the time being, yet still very much alive. “He'll just wake up in an hour or so. Tell him what you want, maybe that you defeated me, I don't care much. Gotta find someone so that I can sell a few t-shirts and figurines to people for a quick bundle of gems.”
“Wait!” Doku said, definitely pushing his luck by actually asking something of this man who clearly did not wish to be disturbed, yet the young Scorpman had to dare if he wanted to progress, a lesson that his mother had actually taught him. “How did you beat him? You did not use any big spells or even lifted a finger, yet my dad just stopped talking and was easy prey when you were done. Tell me your secret...if you please.”
“The name says it all, buddy. I'm the Hypno Baron, emphasis on the hypno,” the skeleton-man said, his tone telling of how irritated he was, of how his patience was growing thin...and yet one idea popped as his stance and voice changed for the better, smelling an opportunity here. “Say...aren't your kind supposed to be all red and menacing? Why are you blue...and so waifish?”
It was then that Doku told his tale and opened his heart to stranger, perhaps the first who was not just willing to listen, but actually able to understand as the Hypno Baron took interest in all that was being told, a welcome change as far as Doku was concerned. “And so I want to be strong...but in my own way. I care not for muscle...but I want to help out in my own way,” Doku stated, making it quite clear what his goals were despite him being uncertain how he could reach them. “Like that half-genie my people are so afraid of...or just like you with your hypnosis.”
“Hmmm...a cute young man like you could perhaps make it so I'd be a hit with a certain crowd with my merchandising...and your tale kinda hit a certain soft spot,” the Hypno Baron said, already scheming how he could take advantage of this. He chuckled in a way that bordered on a menacing cackle, then approached his face close to Doku's in order to make a deal. “So...you said you'd do anything to save your father, yes? Give me the same deal to become my apprentice...and I'll help you out.”
“Absolutely!” Doku said, not hesitating one second as they guided his father back home and then made the trek toward the Hypno Baron's home. This being the first trip outside the desert for Doku, his fear almost got the best of him during it all, especially when they arrived at the sinister castle that his master inhabited, full of spooky creatures, dark corners and wild terrors that threatened to jump at him. Thinking all along that he did promise the Hypno Baron anything, he figured out that this could mean rather shady and questionable things, yet Doku was willing to bear it all if he could be proud and powerful, taking charge of his destiny with this power that could make even the strongest fall with a stare and a few words. “Now, master...what do you need of me for payment?”
“Yeaaah...first of all, don't call me that. It makes me sound perverted. A pretty young thing calling me that is no good for my image. Call me teacher or lord of utter darkness,” the Hypno Baron said, clarifying along the way that he did not seek a certain kind of favor, even with someone as pretty as Doku as he was indeed a skeleton, thus his own proclivities were naught. “Second, fill those bottles with your venom. Gonna check if I can make some good poison out of it.”
Doing as he was told, Doku adapted to his new life as the assistant of the Hypno Baron, finding it both much easier and harder than he expected as the creepy home he was in, the lessons themselves and the general demands of his teacher were both wild and occasionally very simple. The first lessons were quite easy, actually, with Doku being put repeatedly under trances by the Hypno Baron to make it so his apprentice would know how it felt like, to immerse himself inside the peace, relaxation and bliss that he'd be offering others through his talents and skills.
“First thing you have to know is that you're offering a calm haven, a certainty through charisma. You gotta be convincing,” the Hypno Baron told him as those eyes invaded Doku's mind with their depth and their magnetic pull. Unable to resist and very soon unwilling, he finally understood how his father couldn't fight back as there was indeed a mix of euphoria and powerlessness that pervaded him while the Hypno Baron put him in a trance. It was made easy to just submit and not think about anything, to just bask in this magnificence as words became so easy to follow and obey. “And only then will people fall for your dominance.”
The first sessions were nothing but these kind of moment, an acclimation and a deeper understanding of trances, how they should make one feel, one to build one up as Doku tried as best he could to be an excellent student. All along he provided more venom for his teacher, a payment that he thought was quite easy to deal with, yet unbeknownst to him there was another, as the Hypno Baron was indeed looking for funds. He did have minions to feed, repairs to make to his ancestral home and he did have plans for nefarious, possibly world-conquering deeds which required money. As such, he had Doku pose so that he could sell sexy calendars to some of his own employees, these items actually selling quite well due to the unique appeal of the young Scorpman. Always doing this in a trance, for this was the theme of the product itself, Doku knew nothing of this, only aware of the venom he poured out for his benefactor.
Eventually, though, came the time for Doku to actually learn to hypnotize people, to put them under his power and control as he had a very good idea of the euphoria, the intoxicating and addictive nature of a trance and how he should be the key factor in it. Trying to get volunteers, Doku was surprised to see a great many of them come up as Batgals, Bonelegs and that infamous spectre hiding in chests, Ikki, were all up to the task. Unaware that all of them had actually bought the calendar and were just looking to get some personal time with the pretty boy, Doku still tried very much to hypnotize them as best he could. With his eyes, with a swinging pendant itself adorning his tail, he tried very hard to be efficient...and yet none of his inductions seemed to be of any effect. He couldn't keep their attention, or rather he couldn't keep it exactly on what he wanted them to see. Their ogling, while flattering in a sense, made it so his own hypnosis lessons came to an halt as he tried harder and harder still. Self-hypnosis was successful enough, using the same mirror he prettied himself up with in his own room to put himself under...but he was willing and entirely cooperative, which wasn't exactly the point of the exercise.
“You do not quite realize your mistake, nor do you see your true strength here, the one big advantage you could use,” the Hypno Baron said, offering him counsel after many barely successful inductions on the many who came to help him out. Indeed while his technique had improved somewhat, making it so he could claim the attention of a few, some of those minions and monstrous gals were far too self-indulgent in their gaze to really give Doku what he wanted, which meant his progress was slow and then came screeching to a halt. “My own robe make it so people have to see my face, the only visible place of my whole body...and the glow of my magic direct their gaze to mine, which then seals the deal...So what do you have that could help?”
It was a fair question, one that he ruminated over for a while until it just clicked by itself: he was pretty. While perhaps not a humble claim, he was indeed pretty proud of his appearance, of his dancing and of his appeal and he had been so caught up on the Hypno Baron's own methods that he simply hadn't realized that he could adapt them. He did not have to be a copycat, as indeed the point of all this was to be his own man after all. The trances had made him forget all of this, his journey both revelatory and yet leading him astray. As such, he had a better understanding of charisma, putting his to good use as he went to one of the other guest's room, a certain Rottytops, and picked up a few things in secrets in order to come out even prettier. With the zombie gal's stash of costumes and outfits coming in handy, he picked up a veil, many golden adornments and accessories and then placed a gemstone on his turban as he came back to his inductions with a plan this time around, not just some basic understanding: he would seduce them into obedience and submission instead...and it worked magnificently.
They weren't falling under because they weren't really looking at his pendant or eyes, but rather at his lean and svelte body, from his flat chest to his boyish hips. They enjoyed what they saw and thus it was easy to encourage them to stare there, dancing in a repetitive pattern for their eyes only as now he could easily dominate them. They fell for him, his words reaching their brain and subconscious as the Hypno Baron approved of his own discovery, a certain pride in his disciple ri as a long time ed before Doku was then ready, the both of them coming to this understanding together.
“My disciple...it has been a pleasure to see you advance in this path, but now I must it I need to focus on other things,” the Hypno Baron itted, making his guest the Squid Baron wait in another room for talks of merchandising and an alliance for a potential “boss battle”, whatever that meant. “I would rather not deny you my attention and so I think it would be best if you continued on your own, to perfect your own technique. Do come and visit when you get the chance, though.”
Parting ways in good spirits, Doku then returned to his home, the trek frightful before when he first came to the domain of his teacher, yet now he was confident as his lessons bore fruit. Many of the minions in the castle had actually been visited in surprise and had fallen for his technique, meaning that he could indeed use his talents in less-ordained capacities. He could practically hypnotize anyone, of that he was certain, as his journey took him from this creepy place to the scorched dunes that were his home...yet he was far from alone in his travels as someone from the castle itself had actually followed him: a Bonelegs. While a few of them had actually participated in his education of the mesmerizing arts, this one hadn't because she had been waiting for her moment to strike. Having bought all the products that the Hypno Baron was selling on the allure of his disciple, she was obsessed with him and wanted Doku all for herself. Infatuation grew into rather perverted and dangerous desires as she meant to get him by her side...whether he wanted to or not. With this dangerous foe following his tracks, Doku nevertheless was safe as his new power and might came in handy to defend himself.
The warmth and the impossible heat of the dunes greeted his gaze as Doku returned to his home, nostalgia hitting him hard as the struggles and yet bizarre acceptance he had returned to him while he ventured back to the land of his mother and father. The Scorpgals and Scorpmen, who had thought he died, were all curious as to what had happened to him. Had he fled? Was he captured? Did he find love or had he been simply tired of them and the desert? With none of those answers being truthful, he tried to explain himself yet before he could even open up his mouth, his stalker manifested herself in fury as it seemed like she had missed her opportunity and decided that, finally, she would strike now and bring him with her. They were far away from the Hypno Baron, after all, and thus she would not be reprimanded if he'd never know of her deeds.
“Come here, my pretty pretty...I'll shower you in my affection all day and night~” she said in a sultry voice, yet with an aggressive approach and stance as she rushed toward him. With this being neutral ground for their people, both the Scorpmen and Scorpgals went on to defend one of their own, the sight of an unwelcome intruder in their land certainly not bringing them joy but rather anger...and yet they were outmatched by the undead spider-gal. Her bone legs, thick and many, could block any blows coming from all directions while her size, matching theirs, made it so she couldn't be intimidated. Even attacks from below seemed to be inefficient as they had finally met another kind of foe that they had massive difficulties against. The fact that the Scorpion people didn't quite know how to work together didn't help, nor the fact that the Bonelegs was completely determined and focused. “Your family and friends won't get in the way of our love. Come to me, my darling!”
This crazed woman was indeed a menace and it was then that Doku knew how to prove himself to everyone and to his own being as this was the ultimate test...or at least as close to it as it could be. This was his exam, his finals, and thus he knew exactly how to deal with her. “My my, it would do us no good to fight like this...you wouldn't want to harm me by mistake, certainly?” Doku said, going for his most playful, teasing and yet sensual voice as he ran his fingers tenderly on his flesh, moving from his nipples to his hips to tantalize his prey. Putting a good visual focus, he then began to sway his hips as his many legs made it easy to move from side to side, creating an extra balance to a pendulum motion that would prove to be the best basis for his own induction of this crazed Bonelegs. “Why would you want to fight when you could instead check me up...gaze lovingly at my gorgeous body~”
As many of the fighters were confused, some were getting ready to charge again and yet they were stopped by Doku's mother and father, seeing that their child had indeed grown while he was away. He had indeed gone in a vastly different direction, yet they had been expecting him to become mighty...and perhaps he would at that as his words had managed to calm down this enemy from lands beyond the dunes. The Bonelegs herself had been wary, her front legs ready to defend her as she was on her guard...yet the prospect of checking Doku out and of him performing was too good to be true and soon she locked her gaze upon him...her first mistake.
“Thank you...It feels nice not to fight, doesn't it? Why don't we just spend this moment together...act as if there wasn't anyone around, as if we were alone, yes?” Doku continued, his hands going in serpent-like fashion to the best of his abilities as he fluttered his stomach, pulling it in and pushing it out rapidly to create waves. Still swaying his hips left and right alongside his body, this was the pattern that was most effective to build up a trance as he smiled beneath his veil, feeling a certain hypnotic energy invest him as if he had reached another level. “You've traveled so far and wide to really see me...to get my attention...so it is only fair that you give me all of yours. Just listen to my pretty voice and look at my sexy body...and relax~”
With a few of the Scorpion people rather flabbergasted by this sudden development, it was Doku of all people who was beginning to tame this beast not just with a clash of blades...but with his own power: that of beauty. Many of them, boys and girls, did not really witness this as they fell prey to the induction themselves, the charm of their blue companion bringing out hidden desires within. The Bonelegs herself began to slacken a bit, her eyes entirely fixated upon Doku as she began to smile, lost in this moment of his design as she sighed.
“Yes...you're so happy to be noticed, you'll do nothing to possibly wreck this moment as you want it to last forever...and I can make it so if you do as I say, if you follow my instructions...Are you ready?” Doku continued, seductive as he took a few steps forward, getting closer to her position as many saw this as a bold move, but he knew best. This was confidence and charisma, control and power as he was the one who set up the tempo of this discussion, of its progress. He smiled and as he did so the gem in his turban seemed to comply with his own wishes as a spiral formed upon its surface. “No more fighting...no more resistance...you just wanted to be hypnotized by me, to feel like all the others but in a special way...then you only need to give in to me, to set your gaze on my being and nothing else...Let everything else but my beauty fade from view~”
His own presence and appeal grew exponentially as she began to see nothing but spirals, the Bonelegs completely subjugated by this charisma of his. Doku's gold shone brighter under the sun, the gem on his turban seemed entirely hypnotic on its own and his skin seemed smoother and far more luscious than usual. His veil gave him an air of mystery and his dancing was out of this world as red and pink swirls appeared in her eyes, copying those she saw forming behind him due to her strong trance. She sighed and fell on the sand, her legs no longer able to really hold her up as she stared upward to the beautiful hypnotist, to her beloved Doku.
“And now I want you to sleep, to dream of me...let your imagination run free and think of your fantasies, of how being hypnotized by me was such a sumptuous moment that you want to relive it again and again~” Doku said, bringing one hand to her cheek as many were entirely mesmerized, figuratively-speaking, by the spectacle...while some were far more literally under his power. “I will count from five to zero and when I reach zero and snap my fingers...you will sleep and remain under my control...Five...”
She wanted so bad to please him now, her whole desire to own him, to have him all to herself twisted up by her knowledge of what he could do, who he was disciple to and of how everything felt so hot and alien here...and yet here he was making her feel so happy.
“Four...Getting sleepier, happier, so so relaxed~”
She could sense her muscles getting limp, her body relieved of a tension that she never knew she lingered onto. A freedom and a lightness of spirit, all given to her by the pretty Doku.
“Three...Smiling, joyful...this is the best moment of your life and you don't want to run away from it~”
She knew not why she would flee or deny this, not when it felt this good as she felt her eyelids growing heavier, a need for slumber taking over as she yawned and yet struggled to keep checking out the swirls and the sexy young man that made them manifest.
“Two...So so sleepy, getting very tired as you want to rest your weary eyes for me. You crave to obey your hypnotic master~”
She would be so good, so obedient as the idea of hypnosis, something easy to understand for one who worked with the Hypno Baron, was a given. Yes, she had dominated him and she would submit as she yawned, sighed and barely was able to keep her eyes partly-open at this point.
“One...very close to complete rest, your body giving way to complete relaxation as your ion for me, your need for obedience grows even stronger~”
She was barely there anymore, like a phantom inhabiting the shell of a body as she felt dazed in a terrific way, smiling and barely seeing anything else beside the pink and red swirls...and the vision of her incredible master...Doku...
“Zero.”
SNAP!
Right there and then, the Bonelegs was helpless, powerless as she fell into a restful sleep under everyone's gaze, accompanied in this by a few other of the Scorpion people as all were very impressed by what Doku had managed to do, proving himself far and beyond in his ways. With this achievement, none would ever dare question his methods and his way of life as they accepted him wholeheartedly, some even wishing to be like him as he had succeeded in his journey. Respected and even perhaps met with both fear and arousal by many, he was now the very first Scorpman hypnotist, a legend in his own right as he made it so the Bonelegs left him alone for the time being while he participated in patrols and had an altogether happy yet eventful life.
And should travelers from all sorts trek through the desert, they might even meet the one known as the Blue Scorpion...yet would only see him for a few instants before they'd wake up with no clear memory of what happened, lacking in gold, pretty clothes and jewelry as those were his interest. He had to keep up appearances as his talents and interests were depending on this in a way.
This, however, was to be but the first true step in the legend of the Blue Scorpion, a tale that is still being built to this day...
There are some occasions when a close friend goes on to create something and I want to contribute, to help somehow.
