They say that all friendships have their ups and downs. Even the best of friends will have their fights and arguments every now and then as they grow over the years, going down in different paths toward other careers. Some friendships will end for personal reasons when it comes to growing apart or realizing the other is not who they once were, depending on the situation. Some even end terribly (looking at Avatar Roku and Fire Lord Sozin). But there will always be other friendships that last forever, and as Big Mama put it from "The Fox and the Hound": Forever is a long time and time has a way of changing things. So whatever happened here with Harmony and Baron (Boot Hill's birth name), the two are able to patch things up somehow and make up probably with help from neighbors and their parents. I thought of this song when doing the drawing The Fox and the Hound (1981) - Best of Friends - YouTube
Maybe Baron started hanging out with some of the other kids from school who were actually just using and taking advantage of him, only to be cast aside and thrown out when he was of no use to them. Or maybe they were setting him up as part of some cruel prank to target the "kid who wasn't allowed in school". However it goes, it hurts Baron terribly when he didn't listen to Harmony who tried to warn him about those guys she herself encountered in school and thought he really was making new friends who actually liked him, but found out too late that they never cared and thought he had lost Harmony for nothing. But Harmony never stopped loving him, and only hated that he didn't listen. Everybody makes mistakes and she saw how sorry Baron was for not listening when he should have. Eventually the two make up with Harmony promising Baron she'll always be his best friend.

So true, it is always a relief and comfort to know when some of our favorite antagonists didn't start out as villainous, but were someone else long before and had true friends once. So whatever made them go down the wrong path, it doesn't truly mean they are gone forever, not even when we see how there is still good in them that he/she needs help finding again.

I really love this drawing, can't help it but feel sorry for Baron; the other kids would use him only to do things they wouldn't do, becayse those kids knew he'd be blamed for it

This is based on the times where long ago racism, segregation, oppression, and discrimination were quite common and hard for people who were "different" from a certain race/group that for some reason get everything while the "lower forms" get minimum or close to nothing. In Baron's case, (long before he took the name Boot Hill) the other kids he hung out with never really cared for him or wanted to make him part of the gang, they were just taking advantage of him and later were planning to set him up for whatever scheme they were plotting and have Baron take the blame for it, knowing how a lot of the civilians really mistrust and hate vultures/buzzards which can also be a future prediction for how he will later in his life still be taken advantage of by doing everything and getting blamed for everything.
