And yes, everyone thinks of the big flashy powers when they think about deities, but it's the small, less obvious ones you have to watch out for.
I haven't seen much of the Kevin Sorbo Hercules, but wasn't one of the bigger troublemakers Aphrodite? Mostly because she created problems he could'nt just punch? Something like that?

What "material things" would a goddess figure have in a wagon while making a mercy run?

Food? bandages or medicines? Spare clothing or other easily replaced sundries?

I think she figured the scam out right away, and plans to add this scrawny, picked on little waif to her entourage and adopt him.
