I like to play Stellaris when I'm not drawing and one of my favourite species of choice, honestly, are the fox creatures.
It was fun to imagine doing the Horizon Signal arc with a society that was a coalition of corporations - you just know some slimeball executive is going to take the gifts of the Worm and make as big a fortune as they can out of it.
It'll be in all the news feeds - some biotech magnate discovering the formula to make the entire society greater.
Granted it's hard to tell if the genetic formula is designed to revert the species to what they once were or accelerate evolution to what they were destined to develop into. Though I imagine said executive just wants to make trillions out of the super-formula and quadruple their company's share value. Not even some upstart federation-renowned geneticist who cracked the formula is going to get in their way.
